I'm not very familiar with DSL as I have cable. RR's speeds are less than desireable and I'm wondering if with the u-verse AT&T's internet speeds are going to increase. If so, I'm dropping RR. Thanks for the help!! |

My old stomping grounds. I thought Concord Telephone had the Monopoly there. Didnt they sell to Windstream? How did Bellsouth/ATT get in there. Statewide Franchise? |

| reply to xxTRAGEDYxx Hey, Heels_fan i'm assuming your location is still current. Do you know if the statewide franchise has completely passed through the house and senate yet? The Tennessean doesn't print alotta details on follow ups to the whole process, so i'm a tad lost on the progress..
The requirements for the franchise looked promising and will give hope to those thats been passed up for buildout thous far.. If noone changes the conditions at the last second, then it will be of help overall for broadband deployment in TN I believe. |

Thanks for the help!! hello Tragedy, I had the "Elite" dsl service, (top of line for dsl) befor trying U verse,
you can see here how the speeds are different side by side, »Re:DSL Elite vs,Uverse Elite,
IF your a game player or NEED the fat speeds then go for it, but warning there are still some bugs" in uverse -- SOME people make use of a chat forum the same way public walls are used for graffiti,I don't feel compelled to respond to their graffiti ,then I feel equally at ease about ignoring they're post,I'll go about making my post & talking wih FRIENDS. |

| For one, ATT was planning on using the state wide franchise to build out into the more "profitable" areas of the state(Metro-Nashville, Memphis, etc* and not pay attention to the more rural area (Bon Aqua, Soddy Daisy, Mt Pleasant, ect)*
With the compromise, ATT will now hove to build out to a certain percentage of rural areas and in a certain amount of time.
*(These cities are used just for an example and are off the top of my head) |

So the hypcocrisy of this bothers me.
If I was going to open a chain of stores, I'd be damned if the state told me that I HAD to put 30% of my stores in areas where I was guaranteed to lose money. |

@spcsdns.net | reply to xxTRAGEDYxx Heck. If they put DSL coverage in my semi-rural area of TN, most of my neighbors wouldn't hesitate to jump on the offer. We are either stuck with satellite or EVDO. |
