Correct 'username' on postlist (main forum page/FAVS)

On both the main page of a forum, and when a thread shows up on your Favorites, if the last poster happens to be an anonymous poster, the user name displayed is that of the last registered user who posted in the thread.

I suggest that this be replaced by either the username entered by the anonymous poster, or simply "anon", either one in Italics, to differentiate it from a registered user, and more correctly show who posted last.

It won't be a hyperlink and would look weird.

When an anon creates a thread that nobody has replied to, it always stands out in my FF view.

That has always slightly annoyed me. Another problem is that if an anon posts, you may not realize it as the name doesn't update from the last registered user post. The only thing that changes is that the thread is bumped up, which can easily be missed.

And as far as the hyperlink issue goes, I tend to agree that it does make things look weird but there is an easy fix for that. The hyperlinks for registered users go to their profile page, inside a thread the anon post hyperlink goes to »/profile/0. Why not have some uniformity and have the anon names on the anons on the main forum page and fav list link to that same page?

No reason other than developers time to reject this.

I find no compelling reason to have forums indicate that an anonymous user has replied... "anons" are not recognized as DSLR members nor should they be treated as such.

I see some potential for abuse if the name entered by an anonymous poster is used for this purpose. However I also don't like that the name of the most recent registered user is shown when it was really an anonymous entry.

Therefore:
*object* to using the name entered by the anonymous poster
*sign* to using "anon" (or simply leaving the field blank)
