INFO URGENT,help Plz, re recording a movie, different version

hope someone can advise & help;
= = = = = = = = = = = = =
Situation: A Good movie is coming on that i previously burned,
(when 1st shown last year on a prem., channel) in FULL SCREEN), 2 hours long.,,,OK?

Now, & again tonight the SAME movie is showing but in IT'S FULL VERSION which is 3 hrs long which means more movie/drama details in the movie.

thats the good news,
Bad news
It is being shown in "letter box edition"
Question
EITHER befor i burn it or AFTER I burn it on a rewritable DVD,
IS there a way to change it from

----------------------------------------
LETTER BOX EDITION,like this
----------------------------------------

to FULL SCREEN on a HD 27" TV?

THANK YOUf or the info help,

Depending on the software you use yes you can burn the movie in 4.3.

I don't know anything about your setup, but I know when I try to burn something off of a premium channel, my DVD Recorder won't record it. Just out of curiosity, what movie is it?

1st of all the way around that problem,,

when I try to burn something off of a premium channel, my DVD Recorder won't record it

My VHR player-recorder/DVD player-burner combo unit, does the same thing, some movies say "copyright protected"

"'oh yea, I'll fix ya" i copy it to vcr tape , then burn it to a dvd.

and the movie was the UNCUT version of Independence Day[/b] little "'details were added/included in the movie that didn't show on the prem channel version.

Most people who actually care about everything in the movie prefer widescreen as that is the original way the movie was shot and nothing is lost in that, unlike fullscreen (this is probably even more true when going with an extended/uncut version of the movie, since at that point you are actually interested in the most complete version).

I only watch Widescreen. Like you said the way it was intended to be viewed.

recorded / burned in wide screen version as shownn now have both movie (cut) version off prem channel & the uncut version.
Thank You,

How is that a bad thing? You'd rather chop off the sides and see less?

Uhhh letterbox is FULL SCREEN... what you really mean is you want it in butchered 1/3 of content cropped/lost, often with motion sickness inducing pan and scan?

With the huge TV's most seem to have these days, I really don't understand the remaining dislike of letterbox. Sure on a 13-21" inch sets of old maybe.

Funny no one demands 4:3 only when they go to the movie theater.... its the same screen... the various formats are shown on, maybe sometimes curtain masked, in old non plex theaters, but they don't put in a new screen/move the walls, for each format.
