[XP] Network rendering URGENT!

I have posted this in the Wireless Forum as well since i wasnt sure if it mattered that much:

Hello,

I am at university owned flats, and i am behind a NAT firewall from the ISP. I am also using a Netwgear wireless router to connect to the interner and to another of my laptops for 3d rendering with a 3d program (Vue xStream) without any http-tunnel use. Another friend is at another university and most possibly behind a NAT firewall. I have tried setting up a network render with her laptop as well. The program needs the other side's IP and by default works on port 5002 but you can define another port as long as it's not used by another program. The problem is i do not know which number to enter as her IP. I've tried with 2 IPs. One was the one from her Wireless Network Connection Status details, and the other one was the one she got from a 'what is my ip' website. It wouldnt work in both cases. Is there a way to link directly to her PC behind NAT firewalls?

ps: I am using Http-tunnel to traverse my firewall and be able to download .rar files and any other files blocked by the firewall. I think there are no file restrictions on hers.

She is probably behind a firewall that she has no control over, so you will be unable to forward the necessary port(s) to her machine from that border firewall.

[edit:] and, this is NOT URGENT.

To get through all the firewalls, try www.logmein.com

Ive managed to install Hamachi from (www.logmein.com), i can chat through it with my friend but the program does not connect to her hamachi ip. is there anything i can do? i can see her pc in my Workgroup but cannot access it.
What can be done?

You need a third party IP that both of you can access to act as the 'middle man'. If both of you are behind NAT with no access to firewall rules you're kinda out of luck.

and where could i get that from?

I agree. You are both behind NAT and no access to firewall = out of luck when it comes to VPN.

As for why logmein doesn't work, it sounds like a firewall issue.

Oh, and one last thing, this isn't urgent. :P

Thanks for looking at my post but why do you say that it's not urgent when you dont know?

You say: "i can see her pc in my Workgroup but cannot access it."

Look into using 'Remote Desktop' with her computer and yours, where she would be the remote desktop and you control it, this is through Hamachi. (I am assuming you both have Win XP.)

The fact you can not access her computer in the WorkGroup maybe the fact that you do not share a common user account Name and Password and she may not have shared anything on her hard drive for that user account. (Assuming Win XP Pro.)

If you are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in a company due to a problem with a network device, thats urgent. Cant connect to someone elses system? Unfortunate, but not urgent.
