Thanks Krispy. I'll be interested to see what Cogeco says if I exceed my bandwidth limit while they prevent me from seeing how much bandwidth I have used. A VPN is not possible, since I am currently in Brazil, my PC in Canada is turned off and I have no way of configuring it remotely. But I appreciate the suggestion. |

They will say, "You are receiving this message as Cogeco's monitoring system has detected excess bandwidth utilization coming to/from your system." |

If you PM me some way to find your account (typically I ask for the cable modem mac from the sticker on the modem but since you're abroad that might not work for you) I can see what I can do to ensure you get notices, etc. -- you can lead a horse to the water but you cannot make him drink...you can put a man through school but you cannot make him think --ben harper

If your PC is turned off it is unlikely that you will exceed your bandwidth limit.

If your PC is turned off it is unlikely that you will exceed your bandwidth limit. Actually, it is possible. I have other services running through a router that use bandwidth. There are many things one can do with an Internet connection that don't require a PC to be turned on. |
