The fact still remains my email program was being screwed up because RoadRunner was returning suggestions.
So, based on your response, what was actually happening, and how should I have phrased the issue to satisfy your accuracy-in-reporting requirements? -- Mayors of New York come from nowhere and go nowhere. Wallace Sayre (apparently, so do governors... ) |

You don't have to satisfy my requirements, I said no such thing. Don't be so defensive.
But again, a 404 error is not the same thing as a hostname not found. A 404 error is generated by a web server, and for a web server to give that error, it must exist. RR does not redirect 404 errors, I can type invalid pages all day long on real servers and get 404 errors using RR servers. If I type a server name that doesn't exist, I get a redirection to RR's ads.
Whatever strange email program you are using was obviously not getting 404 errors for things that were being redirected by RR. It just doesn't work like that. |
