Has anyone here Downgraded a Comcast package?

Did Comcast give you a discount?

I am thinking about downgrading from Digital Plus to DIgital Classic and possible dropping the Sports package.

My advice is to call Comcast and follow the prompts to cancel your service. Tell them that you are going with Direct TV or Dish. They will ask what you are going to go with and try to keep you as a customer. I had no intention of canceling but I did get all the info that I could on what the competition had to offer. More than likely you will have to call more than once to get a good deal. After 3 calls (I actually gave them a cancel date on the 3rd call that was about 3 weeks in advance) they gave me Digital Starter for $99.00, Digital Prefered for $2.95 a month, Sports and Entertainment Pack for $2.95 a month, Free HD DVR and Free HBO for 12 months. I have one additional non HD converter that I pay $6 a month for. If I would have pushed the issue I probably could have got them to comp that too. I had no contract to sign either. You need to play a little bit of hardball with them to get a good deal with them. I pay less than $122 a month with taxes and all. Just don't forget, if you don't get a deal you like, call back a couple days later and you might get someone that is willing to work with you. Good luck!

I was not offered anything for downgrading. I've downgraded from Premium to Classic, and also separately returned the DVR.
