 | 2nd 250 should be the same $ as the first 250 If the first 250 GB costs $50, each additional 250 GB block should be $50 or less.
If I buy 1 gallon of gas, it's $3.60. If I buy 10 gallons, it's $36. If I buy 100 gallons, it's $360.
Internet service should have a lower additional-usage-increment charge since the first increment includes the customer overhead. |

Comcast WANTS the customers who get their excessive use letter to leave. That's why they give a phone number to call in the letter for more information, and then if you call, they are hostile and refuse to give you any more specific information. They have decided that some customers are much more trouble than they're worth. Go and take your money to our competitor. Let them try to make money making you happy. We know it isn't possible.
This is the way corporate America is heading. Meet our needs, or there's the door. Such policies can only work long-term in business sectors with very limited or no competition. If the marketplace is fair and open, these kinds of policies kill off companies. But where choice is sharply limited to one or only a few competitors, and where governments don't regulate effectively, they can get away with this. |

| reply to davidwr It's like my water bill; $10 base charge plus: $3/1000 gal up to 40K gal $6.00/1000 gal for 40K-60K gal $7.00/1000 gal for 60K-80K gal $9.00/1000 gal for 80K-1000K gal $11.00/1000 gal for 1000K-120K gal $13.00/1000 gal for 120K gal and over
My six month bill including winter just came in. It's $190. In the summer, it runs close to $1000. More than 4X the cost when you go over 120K for each 1000 gal used. Makes you think before watering the lawn. Joe |
