[Windows] Cisco VPN and local connection

I work from home and we use Cisco VPN to connect to our office network. I recently built a new computer and use my laptop for work, work that way when I leave the house I can take my work with me. Problem is that if/when I use the Cisco VPN client to connect to our network and I'm using either Multiplicity or RDP to use my laptop from my main desktop PC it will disconnect me until I disconnect the VPN client, anyone know how to fix this? Help is greatly appreciated!

You can't fix this.

Your VPN administrator has decided that your VPN will tunnel ALL traffic through the VPN.

When the VPN connects, all local connections are not available. You can't do what you are proposing unless you get them to split-tunnel your VPN.

Well, from what I was told Split-tunneling is on, is this the only thing that would cause this?

Could it be that part of teh traffic being tunnelled over the VPN uses the same address space as your local LAN?
