Digital TV Change Over In 2009 Question

I got a call from my Aunt, and she asked me a question about the Digital TV change coming in 2009, which I couldn't answer for her. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light....Right now she has an analog cable ready TV, and has Comcast's basic TV package. She only watches TV for local news, and a few other local programs. Since she has NO cable box, and uses just the cable ready tuner in her TV to access programing, will she need a cable box come time of the switch over, or will Comcast's signal do the conversion from the head end? Sorry if this question may have been answered before, and I just missed the post.....Thanks.

she will be fine. Comcast has her covered. It really only affects customer that are using an antenna to get their services. anyone connected to a cable company or has satellite or fios just need to have a box on each tv set.

hope this helps

If they currently have Comcast, your all set. You don't have to go out and buy anything. Comcast will convert the digital signals that they receive down to analog for your "Broadcast" channels (usually local channels for news like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX...).

DTV transition issues will effect the people that still use Over-the-air Antennas to receive and watch your local broadcast stations.
