Registered they sent me and email with a link clicked on it,then they send you another email with your key and then logged into my Acronis account and downloaded version 8.0 from within "List of your registered products" and i was done. Yep...same here on all counts. Well, except that I don't have v9. And I just went through the process about 5 minutes ago. (I also received my emails almost immediately). Sorry, not too sure what's going on with you folks having problems. (Other than what's already been mentioned)
By the way, this is the same Version that I bought retail a long time ago. In fact, I'm still using it (v8 build 937...the last build available for v8). Has always been extremely reliable. I figured, what the heck, a spare Key can't hurt.
***It should be noted that v8 is not Vista compatible*** (But it sure works great on my XP machines). -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem.

| Don't worry about "free download"- BUY IT, it will change your life regarding computers. I image all partitions on 10 hard drives and 7 computers, even 2 Mac Leopard partitions. You will no longer have to be concerned about worms, viruses, software updates, HD failures, new hardware/software , re-installs-activations &etc. All my computers work perfectly all the time, I would not think of ever using any MS tools like add/remove, system restore, last known good conf, Between Acronis TI 11, Disc Director (which includes OS selector) and extra HD space you save will time, aggravation and money. | |

| You need it for Vista with all the possible problems you could have with it/updates/compatibility, I have re-written probabily 100 partitions in the last 2 years with no problems. Most people do not realize that when you use add/remove you do not actually remove all of the program-you leave behind unwanted file associations, fragments and registry changes that can cause problems. Its much better when you install a new update, program that you watch how it works for a few days and if things start acting funny you re-write your partition to get rid of it completely, also you don't have to spend hours in forums trying to predict how a particular update will work for you-just try it! | |

| With V10 and V11 its compatible with any file system- I image my Leopard partitions with it, you can only image a whole Mac partition not individual files like with windows. You should buy the full version but failing that you MUST get the free one if you are even thinking of doing an XPSP3 install-make an image FIRST!!!! There are vast numbers of people having major problems with it today. Image and burn the boot Cd, if it does not work you are only a couple of clicks away from exactly restoring your old OS. | |

| I Got V8 a week or 2 ago while back thanks to Doctorolds instructions in a thread here. BTW, I learned that once you register you can go to the US site »www.acronis.com/ to download if you want.
I also have the free version 7 that was going around awhile back and so far it works very well in XP and W2000.
I also have the seagate / maxblast version 10 that I used to image vista on my dads new laptop.
Anyway does anyone know the differences in V7 (it was labeled a full version) and V8 (which is now labeled as personal edition)?
Also does anyone know if they offer downloads (via you registered account) of just the rescue boot disk of V7 or V8? I haven't installed V8 yet but if I had the boot disk, I could try V8 out without uninstalling V7. I looked around their site but couldn't find one alsthough it makes sense that they might offer this.
