Re: Got disconnected????

Bandwidth actually is cheap. ISP's are just cashing in instead of spending a bit of money to upgrade their network.

I haven't been following this disconnection issue. Is Bell disconnecting everyone who is still on the unlimited package?

At the rates they're charging, I agree it's nothing like 2 to $5 per gb ... but at the same time, it's not virtually free

I'll agree that bandwidth is relatively cheap but upgrading the network to handle the increased usage along with extra for future needs is a major job & very costly. I would like to think that ISPs keep an eye on this, weighting the cost/benefit ratio, looking for the best time to implement the major upgrade.

the average price per GB in Canada is $0.05 to $0.12 ,, go check your Bell, Rogers and any corporate hosting stats and that's including all infrastructure costs.

oh LOOK

@videotron.ca

0.047-cents/gig.

Bell gets it cheaper due to their "market clout".

Don't let the Bell employee's make you believe Bell is paying some sort of fortune for B/W per gig. Its not true.

The numbers are online for all to see:
