Ah yes, iPCS. Those bastards caused plenty of trouble already, it would be better off eliminating them altogether in the future since they refuse to improve coverage area's that they service, yet want to keep the Sprint name.

I wholeheartedly agree! My parents up in Illinois are stuck under the iPCS umbrella. Coverage is terrible and Ev-DO is non-existent. Whenever I go from San Antonio to visit them in Champaign-Urbana, I can easily tell a difference in terms of coverage and the lack of Ev-DO can be painful (missed calls when using data :/).

Bastards for sure. My county is in "their territory" and Sprint has no EVDO in it, I wonder why But Verizon is allowed!

There should be no territorial crap, it's unfair to the CONSUMERS.

If you want to read (and it's a long read)

Here is a thread at sprintusers since probably the problem began.

iPCS has coverage in major markets and they need to go down badly, as this affects both Sprint and Nextel (mostly Nextel) networks.

iPCS basically wants to turn lights out on the Nextel network in their area's which affect basically 700,000 Nextel customers. A major blow to the already troubled iDEN market and iPCS wants to claim everything even up to Hesse's toilet paper. Their a partner that Sprint has been going back and forth for year's and now Sprint wants to make sure they prevent iPCS from getting there way. Once iPCS get's out of the way that will be one giant stepping stone for Sprint in general.

Well, if Sprint allowed them to become an affiliate, then they should be holding up to any Sprint agreements.
Could iPCS be a part of the reason that Sprint's name is mud to many people (besides their rep on C.S. and billing).

Sprint had to buy a couple many affiliates because the way the original sprint was just a group of affiliates all over the place making a big ball of crap everywhere. So they started buying out affiliates left and right and iPCS is the last standing affiliate which has been causing pain and misery to fix the issue since the Sprint-Nextel merger and has sued because of a breach in agreement it had with Sprint.

iPCS probably contributed to the factor but originally Sprint was terrible in billing and C.S and so far to reorganize all these affiliates they bought out, transfer over customers from other billing systems and so forth has caused nothing but headaches in HQ.

This is why Hesse is trying to restructure the internal part of Sprint, so this time we are not transferred to three of four different locations to get an issue solved. Of course all of this took longer than expected and has taken a toll on the companies stability in general which is why customers are fed up with the issues and are leaving.

Sprint is trying to pull a power rangers with incompatible parts everywhere. Best way I can explain it to ya
