 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mouse speed

I find that while playing STALKER, my mouse speed is too slow for my tastes. In windows, my mouse speed is set to max, but in the game, it's much slower. I've adjusted the mouse speed in the game to the max, but it's still too slow, even slower than my windows speed. BTW, I have Windows Vista home premium. Any way or hack for the game to increase the mouse speed?
