The Ultima series(with the exception of IX) is good as well. Course you'd have to use DOSBox for most of them. -- Jesus Saves! Ask me how! Only Team Starfire spams more than me! |

| reply to mrsenile Would you consider a city-building game, ala SimCity?
E.g., - Children of the Nile - Civilization - Caesar, Zeus, Cleopatra, etc. made by Irrational Games
If she has a Nintendo DS, she might like games such as Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Harvest Moon. -- Happy customer of TOROON08CGO | Silentblue.net Canadian DSL Troubleshooting and Why Can't I Get It? FAQs |

| reply to mrsenile If its an MMO you're looking for, Disney is running the Pirates of the Carribean free MMO. I'm guessing since its Disney, it would probably be ok for someone her age but I havent played it. Other than that, the Final Fantasy games would be ok and so would Kingdom Hearts. |

Disney's Toontown is alot of fun. It's a strictly online game, however, with a $5 monthly fee. |

| reply to mrsenile Are you sure they won't get heavily addicted to an mmorpg at a young age, as to engulf themselves in it their whole life?
Not to sound like a skeptic. RPGs and such that have social aspects with real people don't seem like the best thing to give a 9 year old -- My Site (OverwhelmingKnowledge) My Forum (OK Forums) |

He couldn't care less about the RPG elements, he just goes into battlegrounds and kills other players. He plays the game like it's Counter Strike, lol. -- What's certain about Darwinism is that it would take less time for (1) a single-celled organism to evolve into a human being through mutation and natural selection than for (2) Darwinists to admit they have no proof of (1) - Ann Coulter |

You didn't say in the OP if it has to be a game that runs on a PC. For a nine-year-old interested in RPG I would also recommend Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon, but these are games that run on platforms such as the GameCube, Wii, and Nintendo DS. -- Verizon FIOS |
