| reply to wth Revenues were still up though - maybe with the separation of the entities? Revenue beat estimates by wall street. Churn grew a little bit but it still fairly low imho. -- Brian

| reply to wth Really not as signifficant as it seems... sat because it was different, and cheaper, plus better oic when cable was all analog, was the cause of the huge cable HEMORAGE of the lste 90's to 2004, and now desparate advertising (ditch the dish, etc).... there really are no huge numbers of new customers for ANYONE anymore... mostly, just those now moving around for one reason or another... or the relatively few next generation in new homes coming along. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

[Satellite Today 5-13-08] Dish Network Corp. reported a 7.5 percent increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2008 and a 65 percent increase in income, the company announced May 13. Dish posted total revenue of $2.8 billion for the quarter ended March 31, compared with $2.6 billion for the first quarter of 2007. The company reported income of $259 million, compared with $157 million in 2007. Dish also added about 35,000 new subscribers for the quarter, giving the company a total of 13.8 million subscribers.
