I wonder if companies are charging that rate because they can. The cost of doing business passed on the the consumer like it or not. |

I am not really sure I see your point. They are charging that rate today, and now they will be upgrading their customers for no additional charge. Seems to me like they are doing a good thing here. For what its worth, I pay almost that much for 7Mbps by 512k here in NYC and I would love to be upgraded for free! -- I urge you to beware the temptation of pride -- the temptation of blithely declaring yourselves above it all and label both sides equally at fault, to ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire -Ronald Reagan- |

| reply to grydlok It seems to be pretty fair. I wish I could get it. I pay $60 a month for Alltel EV-DO rev 0. I am lucky to get 1Mbps some of the time. It would cost me $1200 a month to equal that speed. When I had Cox Cable 8Mbps last year, before I moved, it was $40 a month for 8Mbps. It would cost me $80 a month with Cox, and it would still be 4Mbps slower, and the upload would not equal 2Mbps. I looked at there website and they offer cheaper slower tiers, and they are pretty fair too. |

First of all I am a Mediacom employee. Regardless of that I think these are decent prices. |

Oh you know it. companies don't think they should pay any of their own costs anymore. since video is where the really lucrative profits are, thats why theres a "$15 no TV penalty fee" -- When I gez aju zavateh na nalechoo more new yonooz tonigh molinigh - Ken Lee |
