| [need advice] Selling older parts/getting new ones
Hello,
1. I am looking for advice WHERE (maybe other places than ebay?) to sell my ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus LGA 775 C55+MCP55P; a.k.a. nForce 650i SLI & nForce 570 SLI mobo and e6600 @ 3.3 Ghz. Does anybody know a website, where i could sell these parts for decent price? I think it would be stupid just to throw them somewhere in the closet. I think i can get at least $200 for these parts. new e6600 goes for around: 200-230 mobo: bought it for $185 What you guys think?
2. I want to sell this mobo because it supports only 45mn duals (E8500 and such) and NOT quads (q9450 and such). »support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpus···ge=en-us Also my proc is getting old, i mean it works fine but i want to go for newer technology. In addition, could you guys recommend a decent mobo with good overclocking possibilities, also reasonable price? I am thinking about q9450 proc (gonna oc it), but not sure about mobo.
machine (got in 07 july):
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory CASE: Antec Nine Hundred COOLER: tuniq tower 120 VIDEO: EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 POWER SUPPLY: OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W
Thanks in advance and sorry for bad English. p.s. it is gaming machine... mostly. |

You might consider looking up each of the items you wish to sell on Ebay under completed items, to get a feel for what the price range is for each part.
I recently sold off a ton of items, recent and some quite old, and found buyers for nearly everything. I didn't always get my asking price but that is par for the course in the used market, so be prepared to take and consider offers.
Good luck. -- Ha ha haaaaaaa....ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

| reply to ZaRRaZa I think you are spending money in the wrong place for a gaming machine.
A 3.3ghz 6600 is not your bottleneck in gaming. Moving to a quad core isn't going to do much for you. You are much better off replacing your graphics card if you aren't satisfied.
What games and what resolution are you running them at? |

| reply to ZaRRaZa well my monitor supports 1440Xsometing resolution, i mean thats the maximum. Most games run on that resolution with no problems. I play counterstrikes and nba live(sometimes). When splinter cell series and hitman series comes out i play them alot because thats my favorite. I just finished assassins creed. My stepdad plays cod4 online a lot. What card you guys can suggest? maybe get another evga 8800gts and go sli? or simply i just should oc my videocard? or replace with something else?
p.s. overall i really have no problems with my machine: all games run smoothly (most set on HIGH) and etc, i guess i just wanna go with newer technology. Maybe i should wait a year or so, since i am satisfied with my machine? Because i remember when i got radeon 9800pro, it did THE JOB for 2-3 years, it really ran all games (some on max, some medium), but then pixel shader 3 came out and i could not play most of the games (radeon 9800pro supports only 2.0 as far as i can remmeber) so i got this machine. If you guys think its a waste of money to buy a better proc and mobo or video card, then i'll wait a year or so. You know, there is no need of wastin money lol. I kind a answered my own questions lol but i am just wondering about all this, sharing my thoughts and looking for advise and other people opinions, thats all.
Thanks |

yes, that is what I would suggest. There is no problem to solve so I would do nothing. |

| reply to ZaRRaZa personally, unless you are just looking to spend some $$, I'd keep what you have. seems like it is doing fairly well for you. I wouldn't really worry about replacing parts until there is a graphics card with a significant upgrade to yours for a decent price. I'm talking a performance upgrade of over 50%. I haven't been paying really close attention to the 9800 series but from what I've read they aren't close to that. -- no one is listening |

| right now, I'd say reasonably priced is in the 170s. unless it is less for you
but i've decided to go with the Abit IP35 Pro. used one on my cousins build, and works flawlessly @ 3ghz with a Q6600 on stock voltage, auto settings! -- no one is listening |

join:2005-12-04 Newington, CT | yeah that sounds allrite. Well, my mobo is not bad either, e6600 @ 3.3Ghz on stock voltages, i just raised fsb. To bad it does not support 45mn intel quads. I might just get E8400 or q6600 when it gets more cheaper. |
