| I convinced my friend to hold out for the 3870X2. He's glad he did. Runs great with a 24" monitor.
Myself, I'm going to see what the 4000 series has to offer. Might just settle for 3870 if the price is low enough. I got my X1950 Pro for decent price. Runs what I want pretty well other than Gears of War. Even with a 19", the game starts to sputter. Not ready to upgrade my PSU just yet. |

| I just saw the sale at Future Shop. They're also having a moving day sale here so I might go over there after work today and check out if that card is also marked down more after the sale.
Wish we carried that card where I work. The best cards we have are the 8600 GT and the 2600 Pro.  |

You can even consider the 9600GT which is dirty cheap. |

9800GTX can be found for $280 and less. until the 3850x2 drops down that much, it's not the best card for 1920x1080/1200 resolutions and higher.
glad to see a strong ATI card again, though. the 3870 and 3870x2 leave much to be desired. they are poor performers in many games, where even a 9600GT beats the X2 occasionally. not sure if it's poor drivers or games more optimized for nvidia cards but seeing $150-200 nvidia cards outperform a $400 ATI card made me turn away from ATI.

However, as others have mentioned it appears the 4800 series are coming within 30 days. |
