| Important information about unlimited plans If you want the unlimited service from Sprint, you have until June 15 of this year to get the service. After June 15, the service is no longer available and the 5GB cap will be in place.
Current customers who have the service their unlimited service contracts will be honored even after their contract expires.
I just talked to retentions who just received a class about the issue this morning. So get it while it's still hot, I canceled my service either way since I still had 30 days to return it due to a contract renewal (a trick in the book).
This is the current word from retentions and if I left it how it was my plan would still remain unlimited after June 15.
For further information contact the retentions department.

*2 has a lot more info than you think, you simply need to ask who ever is answering your call to verify that information, they might take 5-10 minutes leaving you on hold, but they eventually find the answer to your question.

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans So you're saying you have more creditability than that writer? Who's the say the people in retentions didn't get the wrong info and you're feeding it along to the rest of people.
Its already written that the cap will affect EVERYONE. Where is the exclusion in writing that you are feeding to people? Its not very nice to do this to people who are trying to grasp on to any hope.

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans I never said "I" have more credibility what I am saying is that "SOMEONE WHO WORKS AT SPRINT" has a lot more credibility. If I wasn't so sure about what I am saying, I would normally keep my mouth shut about it. Take my info with a grain of salt if you wish, but I seen first hand customers with packages that technically do not exist anymore and are still honored by the company.
The unlimited plan once changed will become a legacy package, that does not mean it would not still be available. So according to the rep Sprint will honor the unlimited package for current customers, but not for new one's.
She also pretty much told me that she just left the brief on that matter. So unless she is full of it, I am pretty sure I got my info from a credible source.
Also getting the information through email is not in writing. So sorry to burst your bubble, but unless it's notarized and with a company seal, it's not an official document in my book. Where is that info on all these other sources? A email? A call? Sounds like those sources are no more credible than mine.
I will get more specific details though, if you wish, but I am not here to BS anyone.

| I just received my bill and no mention of the change. I also e-mailed Sprint. The response is classic:
Thank you for contacting Sprint. I will be glad to assist you with the Unlimited Data.
I would like tom inform you that as such Sprint has not decided to change the unlimited data limited. Also in this regard no update has been issued by Sprint. Therefore as of now be assured that there will no change in the data limit.
Further I have forwarded your feedback to the dedicate dapartment. If such changes will be implemented by the Sprint you will be notified with the promotional method.
Thank you for emailing us. Have a great day!

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans The updated info as of today by the Sprint representative she basically states that the unlimited packages are staying but the way they are done are differently.
5GB for in-network roaming, this basically means area code territory. If my area code for example is 305 and I am in NC where the area code is 910, this is considered in-network roaming. Unlimited usage basically is provided as long as you stay within limits of your area code.
Off network, basically means you are using a Alltel or Verizon wireless tower with a 300MB limit for usage on such networks. This reminds me of the Boost unlimited area calling.
Why are things being implemented this way I really do not know, but this is the word from the second representative who basically called me back after on the hour with her on the phone researching the exact details.

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans Yes, the whole on-network roaming thing makes sense because they don't market the Sprint MOBILE Broadband service to people who travel. I drive over-the-road and if Sprint hadn't changed the bills to not show the city/state of the tower you used for the call, my bill would be about 15 pages longer. | |

There is really something not specific in the new terms related to basically 5GB in roaming. I don't receive my statements over the mail so I have never received such a notice.
Whatever, good luck with your situation because mine was clearly much different than pretty much the general population.

| The e-mail response i got:
Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand your concern related to the changing the terms and conditions for Mobile Broadband Connection Plans.
Yes, you are right that Sprint is changing the terms and conditions for Mobile Broadband Connection Plans, Data Access Plans, and Phone as Modem Plans to include usage limitations. This change goes into effect for all customers as of July 13, 2008. The specific change adds the following limitations:
- Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred, and to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if usage either exceeds 5GB/month in total, or 300MB/month while roaming.
- In other words, if a customer exceeds the data amounts that Sprint has specified, Sprint may modify usage behaviors, terminate, suspend, or disconnect the customer?s service.
I would also like to inform you that we believe that all of our customers should get the best service possible from their broadband. That means speedy downloads for all users, not just a few. However, when someone is downloading a particularly large amount of information over a long period of time, repeatedly, it can slow down speeds for other users who might just be checking their e-mail or browsing online. So to make sure Sprint service is fair for everybody, Sprint is encouraging the right kind of use on the network.
We are notifying our customers via a bill message to make our customer aware these changes on the account. It allows customers the opportunity to review their data usage. -- Asus P5N-E SLI|E4500|2 GB DDR2 800|8800GT|Audigy + Front Bay|Hauppauge PVR-150MCE|Vista Ultimate + XP Pro SP2 dual boot|Sony Vaio VGN-CR290|Sprint Mobile Broadband|Netgear WGR614v8

My cell phone bill again this month has over charges! grrrrrrrr its so damn annoying. I am very surprised Sprint can stay in business. But I guess when they over charge monthly, times how many millions of people, that is where they get their extra money to stay in business. Because their customer service and billing errors sure dont keep customers around.

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans I spoke to a Sprint CS rep yesterday. He said Sprint recently changed their billing system (last month) and he said the new system only allows one "employee discount". This affects me in that I have an employee discount through my company, and also had a discount for 50% off the Sprint TV package. I was given the TV package discount when I re-upped my account last year. They said that any kind of discount like that is done via a Sprint employee discount. They said since my company discount is greater than that TV discount I was getting, only my company discount was carried through to the new system.
I have called in two months in a row now for them to fix this error. They said until the error is fixed, I will have to call in every month to get this discount applied and also said that at some point the finance department would put a stop to it, saying it was abuse. I said its what I signed up for when I re-upped my contract. He gave the usual "well if you read your TOS close enough..." answer. So, when they stop giving me the discount, I'll remove that TV package from my account.
Just an FYI for anyone else in this same scenario and wondering why their discounts have disappeared. -- Hail To The Redskins

| Re: Important information about unlimited plans I seriously don't know what happened but after three days of removing my data card, I got complete jack asses for customer service.
One answered "Uh, hello can I have your telephone number, hello?" I had to repeat to her like 6 times the security code, and she kept on saying what ever she crapped out of her ass.
*click*
Called again and again, receiving idiot after idiot and I seriously felt like basically I need to start insulting someone to get a simple freaking answer on my account.
I know I received someone with a clue the last few times that I called for 4 months, what ever the hell happened they better fix it.
In regards to your emails, I feel like no matter what form of information I post, I am misleading customers and basically telling a lie around this joint. So I am no longer following the issue, and you are pretty much are on your own.
I guess we have to be name brand to be legit around here, and I am not tolerating that kind of trash. So good luck with that folks.

| I got my bill on Friday and on page 1 it says Sprint is making changes to its policies. Please see the Sprint News and Notices: box on page 2, the back of this page, for details. So I flip over and read Connection and Phone as Modem Plans T&Cs Change: Effective in 30 days, Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred and to deny, terminate, modify or suspend service is usage exceeds 5 GB/month in total or 300 MB/month while roaming off network.
So I call customer service to ask them how can I check my usage so that I dont go over. The girl puts me on hold for five minutes and comes back and says that this change does not affect me since I am on an unlimited plan. I told her this seemed strange since my bill says it does affect me and she said it doesnt. She tells me to rest assured it does not affect me, adds a note to my account to that affect and gives me her and a colleague she consulted with representative IDs.
I called right back and talked to another person and he too assured me that it didnt affect me, added a note to my account and gave me his ID.
It seems strange to me that they would put this on my bill even though it has nothing to do with me.

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand your conern about the 5GB cap.
Yes, Sprint is going to launch the GB cap for the data usage. I would like to share with you that existing accounts are not impacted by this change.
Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Original Message Follows: ------------------------ ======================================================================== Name: XXXXXXX Form: Ask A Question Learn OR Feedback and Suggestions - Learn Topic: Plans, Features, and Services Contact Number: XXX-XXX-XXXX ======================================================================== Original Question: Changes to unlimited data plans (ie 5 GB/month cap) Question: My most recent bill which I received on May 30, 2008 says there will be a change to the T&C. It says ?Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred and to deny, terminate, modify or suspend service if usage exceeds 5 GB/month??. I called customer service twice to ask about this and was told by representative RA464933 that this did not apply to me and she said she would note this in my account. During my second call I talked to RU451114 and he told me the same thing.
I am very confused. Why does my bill say one thing (that there will be a change which limits me to 5 GB/month) and the customer service representatives say this is incorrect? ========================================================================
