Well, it's already a disaster. Verizon deactivated my DSL account including all my email and sub-accounts, 4 days early. I'm getting mixed responses whether or not I'll ever get my email accounts back. Words can't describe how much I hate Verizon right now. |

| Verizon Direct comes through again. No less than 6 people told me on the phone that my best case scenario was that my email accounts would be back on Friday. 1 Post in the Verizon Direct Forum, and my account is back online. I had tech support, billing, and several supervisors tell me on the phone that there was absolutely nothing they could do to help me.
Thanks again to the terrific people over there. |

I'm getting mixed responses whether or not I'll ever get my email accounts back... Man! That should never have happened. When I switched from DSL to FiOS, All my accounts stayed as they were. I had DSL connectivity, literally, until the FiOS install tech switched my in-house wiring from the old Copper line coming in and connected it to the ONT. My internet and phone were only down about an hour and a half.
Almost as soon as the ONT was activated, I had phone and internet and there were no other connection problems at all. It took about another two hours to get FiOS-TV running but that was a V* set top box activation server problem and not any other issue.
All my email accounts were there and accessible as if nothing had changed (except for going from 3 mb/s to 15 mb/s).
Hope you get to some CSR that knows what the heck is going on and he/she can rescue your DSL (until Fri) and keep you from losing your V* accounts.
Postmortem: Glad the crew in V* Direct could help. I meant to suggest that route in my post.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised at FiOS service. Not only are you not at the whim of unpredictable DSL speed hiccups (I almost always test at 14.5/1.9 mb/s on my 15/2 connection) but my phone service is much quieter than it was on Copper. -- Never raise your hands to your kids. I was basically on the phone from 11AM this morning until 3PM this afternoon. NOBODY would/could help me. They said: "it was impossible" to get my account back online before Friday. I spoke to FIOS and DSL customer service and billing departments. I also spoke to 2 supervisors, including 1 who couldn't guarantee that my accounts would even be able to be retrieved since it was canceled in advance. The fact that 1 post in the Verzion Direct Forum got my account back online proves that everyone I spoke to was full of s**t. |

| What else do you expect from "Bob" or "Joseph" on the other end? It's one of the occupational hazards of outsourcing... BTW, the Direct forum won't be around for long either, I heard it's being moved overseas as well, so this may very well be the last time you actually get to use their outstanding service. |

What a shame. The work they do in there is unbelievable. |
