Is there a way to configure the 4250 to remove the black and grey bars that appear on the top / sides when viewing the HD channels?

Thanks!
On a standard TV, when you view non-HD content through the HD box on an HD channel -- you will see bars on top and bottom.. On HD content on a standard TV, you will see bars on top & bottom. The solution is to get an HD 16:9 television, or you can muck around with the zoom settings on the box with the # key

Where exactly is this # key? I do not see it on the front of the box, nor on the remote.

It is located on the remote just below the 9 button.

On my remote the "FAV" button is just below the 9 button.

ONLY for Hi-def channels... I noticed that I cannot change the pix size when using the composite video [yellow] output, which you're probably using into your std def TV. The pix dimension options only work when using the component [r-g-b] or HDMI outputs.
So, a guess you're stuck with gray borders if using the composite video output.
At least that's what I think. I've only had my HD box for an hour!
