| [TWC] Modem Keeps Resetting
I have RR in NYC. Every once in awhile my modem resets. This has been happening a few times a day. A few days ago I went to the TW Office and exchanged my modem and the problem still persists.
I am guessing I should have a tech come to my house, its just annoying because I work and I wont be here on Saturdays.
Any tips to resolve problem on my own? |

| reply to jeffnyc Not in New York but I had the same problem. Modem keep resetting. It was an old Toshiba something.
Tech support said they couldn't see anything wrong. Speed test would show normal speed even when it would take several minutes to compete if at all. Keep wanting to blame my pc or router. But thats another story.
They finally came out and found the problem at the curb. Amp had gone bad or something. Took every bit of 5 minutes to figure this out.
They did go ahead and change my modem out to a Motorola SB5001 anyway.
About the only thing you could do would be sure to make sure the modem is one of the first things connected before any line splitters. And try to limit the modem to being the only thing connected. If problem corrects then you have bad and/or cheap splitter or to many splitters to hold a signal. |
