Horrible design and planning of a mission critical data center, if I ever heard it. All eggs in one basket. To have a substation transformer located in a room without 3 or 4 hour fire-rated walls (typically made of reinforced masonry) was a big mistake, and an easily avoidable risk. The result was a complete outage of the data center, a financial loss, and a loss of reputation that you can't even put a price on. In comparison, the masonry walls would have been cheap. |
