| Student Plan thing-a-majing
Hi
Ok, so I go to university, and since it's summer time, i'd like to suspend my account for those 4 months and pay the $40 dollar one time fee. Naturally it's only 3 months left, but meh
Anyways... I called them yesterday, and i think I got a message on my voicemail today (at the wrong time), and i was just wondering...
Is that how the process works? I can barely hear the number on the voicemail, so i want to know if it was some automatic machine telling me to call cogeco
If that isn't normally how the process goes, do you mind telling me how it happens?
I have had to sign up to this plan twice... first time I got no reply back whatsoever, hoping this time is different.
I realize i'm suppose to wait 72 hrs, just want to be prepared and know what to expect

| Hey...did any of you guys sign up for the student plan?
When we signed up, we were told the internet would still be connected for intermittent use (ie. one of the 5 people that live in our house was staying for the summer), and that cable would still be connected.
Last week, (I'm the one housemate staying the summer), on Monday or Tuesday I think, I got the error screen saying the internet had been disconnected.
Called them and they gave me this spiel about how the summer student plan is for ANALOG cable only, internet and phone are disconnected, and that it is advertised as such on the website.
In fact, it is NOT advertised as such on the webpage, as linked by the OP. All it says in the fineprint is that digital phone and digital cable will be turned off (in fact, our digital cable is still going, and when I told the rep this, she snarkily replied "well consider yourself lucky, they just haven't noticed that yet.") That doesn't really make sense to me though since the internet was just turned off recently...why would they not have also noticed our digital cable was still going?
Anyway, does anyone else have the summer student plan, and have their internet still connected? |

| Also forgot to mention, we signed up for it on April 30 I think, and were billed on May 1.
Odd how it took a month for them to turn off the internet.
I'm thinking they just decided to change it to analog cable only (which is covered by fine print pt. #1).
Still, that's not what we signed up for, so I'm a little angry about that. |

| reply to Deathray I didn't sign up for the student plan this year because I am no longer a student ...
But, I did sign up for it for three years in the past, and each time the internet continued to work, as did analog cable. Digital cable was shut off, but the internet continued to work no problem. |
