 Upgrade of upload speed

Comcast has started upgrading upload speed on CHSI 6Mb (Performance) and 8Mb (Performance Plus) packages .

6Mb Download/1Mb Upload

8Mb Download/2Mb Upload

It started on 6/3/08 and should be completed by EOB on 6/5/08.

Customers with these packages will need to powercycle their modems to receive the increased speeds.

Has you upload increased?

Re: ugrade of upload speed

Comcast's own speedtest site....

»cdn-ce-den-t2-08.ce.speedtest.ic···test.swf

..shows me at:

Test #1: 43.398 Mbps download and 2.659 Mbps upload.
Test #2: 23.291 Mbps download and 2.698 Mbps upload.
Test #3: 28.076 Mbps download and 2.761 Mbps upload.
Test #4: 67.296 Mbps download and 0.369 Mbps upload.
Test #5: 23.631 Mbps download and 2.797 Mbps upload.
Test #6: 38.102 Mbps download and 2.596 Mbps upload.
Test #7: 22.283 Mbps download and 2.654 Mbps upload.
Test #8: 21.936 Mbps download and 2.561 Mbps upload.
Test #9: 22.012 Mbps download and 2.670 Mbps upload.
Test #10: 22.775 Mbps download and 2.663 Mbps upload.

Avg download: 31.28 Mbps
Avg upload: 2.4428 Mbps

Powerboost is kicking in for download, but the upload seems pretty consistent (if you throw out test #4) just above 2 Mbps.

Powercycled your modem yet?

I'm in Abq as well, off Tramway & Lomas...seems to be working for me.

Have you done an actual upload yet, and let the powerboost go away after that I still get the same speeds.

Re: Upgrade of upload speed

Most who post or lurk here have been aware of this.

Our FAQ: »Comcast High Speed Internet »What are the actual Provisioned Speeds?

Keep in mind that there is no official roll-out date for these upgrades and which markets will receive them.

Silly me....being optimistic like that.

I forgot, New Mexico, along with the rest of this part of the country won't see an upgrade for some time, if ever.

Uploaded a couple files that were 60Mb - 70Mb in size...average a little under 690k.

Boo @ Comcast making me think we might get an upgrade. lol

Looks like I got it today here in NH. I tried yesterday, no change. Today I rebooted the modem and tried a larger FTP upload and I'm uploading at a steady 1Mbps after powerboost now. So it looks like I have 6/1!
