So...I hope you are ready for SUMMER!

After the Midwestern style storms on Wednesday - they sounded the emergency sirens and kept us all inside at University of MD for 1/2 an hour - now we can brace for the brutal heat and humidity. Those folks I work with who do residential comfort cooling work on the side have cleared their calender this weekend! So check your outside unit for any debris, change the filter on the air handler and remember that if it gets to be 100 outside you might not be able to get 70 inside! 75 or 78 is a more reasonable goal, and your wallet will thank you. Be safe out there!

Bring it on, it's better than the cold and damp we had last month.

Well, the storms this week took out the compressor. Fortunately we have a maintenance contract because they were out here until almost 11pm the other night.

We've had the maintenance contract for some time now and we have the entire A/C system checked, cleaned and any repairs made every spring. And yet, for the past three years, the first time we turned it on some odd problem has happened. Last year it was the delay switch which died. This time the storm knocked out a breaker in the compressor unit. Before that it was a capacitor. This maintenance contract has been worth it!
