| [Need Info] Multi Monitor Software
I was looking at UltraMon for software that would let me make better use of a dual monitor set up and was wondering if anyone else uses it or has suggestions for something similar that does the same thing.
I read about UltraMon here -- Team Discovery |

| I have not tried the Zenview Manager or UltraMon yet. I've only used the Built in Windows software with the MultiMonitor TaskBar extender and it is OK. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

I'm planning on using a splitter for my set up. -- Team Discovery |

I though a splitter just gives you the same image on both monitors? -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

1 edit | reply to Doctor Olds Without any third party software you can extend your desktop to both monitors using the built in Windows software. It will pick up both monitors and you pick the primary which will have the task bar and then have it extend your desktop to the second monitor. Then you have to do the drag thing to move windows to the second monitor.
That is what lead me to look for something with more functionality like a taskbar on each monitor or the ability to open applications automatically on the second monitor. -- Team Discovery |

1 edit | reply to grobinette Well now I see the error in my thinking.
The Dells we use at work have a splitter with the connections labeled 1 and 2 which will allows a single video card to see two separate monitors and allows you to drag windows from one monitor to the other.
The splitter cable I purchased clones the same screen on both monitors and it is seen as a single monitor by Windows.
So I guess it's off to find a different splitter cable or a video card with dual DVI outputs.
Thanks for your input guys. -- Team Discovery |
