It's been windier than I've ever seen it over on the Kitsap Peninsula. |

| I wish some of that would drop south to CA, we could really use it! We had a close to normal winter this year (though much better than last winter, when we had only half of our normal rain and snow), but the driest Spring ever recorded in Northern California as well, here in Redwood Valley we only had an inch of rain in March and and inch in April, and nothing since then. Seeing how it's our dry season now, other than a shower or two in the lower elevations and some thunderstorms (and even some snow on the highest peaks, like Mt.Shasta and Mt.Whitney) in the mountains we won't see any real precip until October now.
Edit-It's been very windy here this Spring as well. We also had freezing temps even at our elevation in April, and some 30 degree nights just last week. Other than that 1 weird week of above normal 90's, it's also been a VERY cool Spring, which is good for keeping fire danger down. Crazy and queer indeed, from winter to a week of summer and now back to winter lol |

| reply to aurgathor Speak of the devil err I mean frost, it looks like it might be frosty tonight here in Mendocino County, crazy considering we're going into Mid June-
... Patchy frost expected across inland valleys Wednesday morning..
Cooler air will move into the region today as an upper level low swings through the Pacific northwest. Mostly clear skies tonight will help promote efficient cooling early Wednesday morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 30s across Trinity County... and into the low and mid 40s over eastern Humboldt and interior Mendocino counties. Northerly winds are expected to remain breezy overnight... which should help prevent widespread frost formation. However... areas that see calm winds overnight... or areas typically sheltered from wind... will likely see development of patchy frost.
Those with agriculture interests or sensitive outdoor plants should take precautions against the possibility of patchy frost.

drew Vorbei Premium join:2002-07-10 Port Orchard, WA clubs: | interestingly enough it was light out at about 9:20ish last night, but it got darker earlier tonight. Strange! |
|
tshirt Premium join:2004-07-11 Snohomish, WA | No clouds. with a light high overcast the reflected sunlight can add another hour or 2 a day of "not really dark" go to the desert (e.washington or the southwest) where the nights are clear, and sunset is more like the flick a switch. |

| That explains why I have noticed that it has been still light out way after nine(sunset is a little after 8:30pm here), all the smoke must be reflecting the Sunlight back down. -- You know what? I have a ball. Perhaps you'd like to bounce it? |

click where you are, then click the " air quality" tab and play with the side bar. the extent of the fires/smoke plume is amazing (and scary) |
