North York outages over the past week?

I've been without internet for almost 2 days now. It was up briefly today but went back down. Was also out for most of Wednesday.

Is this just me, or is it all of North York getting hit by this? Tech support sent in tickets but aren't giving me any answers aside from 'maybe it's the storms'.

I'm starting to regret switching from Rogers.

I'm in North York and my dryloop has been dead for most of the weekend...it was up briefly on Sunday but dropped again in the evening.

Unfortunately this has been a recurring issue with me...I've had outages about once a month or so and haven't gotten any response from tech support as to what is causing this. I don't know whats going on, but I don't think its reasonable to have my connection drop on me so often.

Hmm... I'm in North York on a Dry Loop and I've been fine over the last few days even with the storms. I'm on the very very North part of North York fyi.

My understanding is that Bell Nexxia were having equipment issues in North York for the past few days, which affected all ISP's using Nexxia for the last mile. The problem was resolved last night around 9:30 PM.

Thanks for the info, but my connection was still down as of this morning.

I don't know, I don't think anything happened recently...like I said my specific problems seem to happen all the time...maybe I'm just terribly unlucky.

I'm in the NY towers...anyone else near by having problems?

Bayview and Sheppard and my internet has been down for at least 100 hours this month... it's ridiculous. I know its not Teksavvy's fault but if this happens during every thunderstorm then I can't imagine what'd happen when I have to upload files for school assignments...

I called in this morning and ask if there's any complimentary dial up incase of an emergency situation... unfortunately the tech support who was there said no... sigh.

im at the ny towers too. new teksavvy customer, not supposed to get internet till today, but it was working when i hooked up my modem on wednesday. Had an outage all friday night and saturday, came back magically, then was down from sunday afternoon, till my wife checked it, worked today around 3pm. i think its the thunderstorms knocking the connection out, the modem said is was not synched. when i called teksavvy on saturday they said my account was "locked" until today and could not help me to resolve the situation. oh well. im gonna check out the connection tonight, looks like my upload speed it a little low. around 400kbps.

I am near Bathurst and Lawrence and my Dryloop has been sketchy all weekend.

At the worst point it would be up for about 10 seconds before losing connection and repeating over and over and over....

well as a new customer i was pretty worried when i got off to such a sketchy start, but my connection has been fine now, for at least 8 hours lol, im pretty used to 30-60 days or more uptime with my old isp fci broadband. my latency in games like cs source is great but bells throttling is killing me.... i'll likely put up a review of teksavvy in a few months time.

Near Yonge and Churchill. Service has been rock solid.

maybe bell is doing repair to the fibre in the area.

NY does have flaky coverage compared to the rest of the gta.

Mine's back up and has been solid since yesterday. Bell even called me to let me know it was ok.

I'd be really interested in knowing why NY coverage is so flaky...it'd really help in putting my mind at ease that its bell's evil doing. Is it all the new condos in the area or something? Is it because I have dry loop and when someone wants a new phone line bell comes in and jacks my line because they don't detect a dial tone?

no the newer condos have vdsl and fibre on most of yonge and steeles and parts of bathurst and some of finch.

but the condition of most of north yorks line are very very very old. not as bad as downtowns copper. but most of north york is poorly maintained. like where i live we have private management that does not take care of inside wiring so i am limited to 3 megs even though i am within 4k of the dslam. but across the street in the other building they got vdsl, iptv and 7meg no probs.

Here we go again!

A little bit of thunder and rain, and internet is out AGAIN. This is really pathetic.
I wonder how long it will take this time? 24-48hrs+ again?

I think I'm just going to go back to Rogers.

Okay seriously what are the lines in North York made out of, paper? I'm outraged by this... everytime there's a storm/lightning the modem goes out of sync for 12+ hours and Teksavvy can do absolutely nothing about it. I'm thinking of cancelling too, I know these are Bell's lines, but this is just ridiculous.

Hmm seems like line quality degredation is happening here at my place too, Kennedy + Steeles... lots of intermittent disconnections.

Was forced on an interleaved connection after 5-6 years of solid 5M fastpath.
