Lucky you... I had to call in 7 times, and it hasn't been processed yet. |

| reply to danclan said by danclan :said by aaronwt :said by TheOtherPete :It makes zero sense to reboot your router. The router has nothing to do with your speed provisioning/restrictions. As far as its concerned, 100Mbps in (WAN), 100Mbps out (LAN) My ONT was provisioned for 20mbs and it didn't show up until I rebooted the Actiontec. chalk that up to coincidence. The ONT is independent of the router inside of the home. Neither one manages the configuration of the other nor cares. The tech I talked to said this happens sometimes and that booting the Actionte will usually cause the 20mbs to show up when you have been provisioned and it's not there. In my case he was right. I'm also able to check my upload speed from my DLink since it measures it. Even when the ONT was provisioned for 20mbs up, it wouldn't get 20bs up from the Actiontec until it was rebooted. Once it was rebooted, it hit 20mbs up. Prior to that it wouldn't go past 5mbs up. |

It can be very hard, if there your records are screwed up. Took me well over a month to get 15/2 because orders kept getting stuck. |

| reply to kes601 I still havent gotten my speeds. Im dealing with a Verizon nightmare, I attempted to order it online on Monday morning, and it said processing/order placed. I checked on tuesday it was stuck at 54% but still on schedule so I called them in the afternoon, they then told me the order had failed in the system and they will need to place the order again, and it will be ready that afternoon, and a manager would call me back. Never got a call back and it wasn't ready, I called back in the evening they tell me the new order failed and would need to be processed, same exact runaround yesterday. And finally this morning they said it was sent to "an offline group" that will be dealing with this and expect a call back sometime next week. I have been on the phone for over 8 hours with them this week and I still don't have my speed upgrades. How hard can it really be? Im just trying to upgrade from 15/15 to 20/20 |

| reply to RScottyL I was finally able to call today about the speed upgrade.
They bumped me from 15/2 to 20/20. I get the 20/5 price for 3 months and if I decide I don't want 20/20 I can call and drop down to 20/5.
They also added Cinemax(the only channels I was not receiving) for an additional $2/month.
Now...
If this all goes through correctly I will be happy. |

| reply to rustyvt I got my upgrade yesterday to 10/2. However the highest speed I hit in the Speednet download test is 7.5 meg. When I was on 5/2, I always hit right around 5 meg. I did the optimizer and unplug my router but still can't top 7.5 meg download. Any suggestions ? FYI: my "free" "Double the speed at the same price" is costing me $3.00 a month more. For $3 extra I better get close to 10 meg download not 7.5. |

Anyone else have success in getting the upload speed fixed ater it initially being wrong? Jason My upload speed provisioning was finally fixed this evening(a day later than they said it would be, but I'm not complaining. The download speed was upgraded right away on Monday morning which is what I'm more concerned with.). I'm now getting 20mbs up instead of 5mbs. This 50/20 tier is sweet. Did you have to call to get them to fix it or did it just happen? |

| reply to RScottyL Ok here is my experience....called to see if I was provisioned for 20/5 (currently have 15/2). They said yes and it would raise my monthly rate 3.00 (54 to 57.95). Not too bad of an increase, although the honeymoon at 49.99 is over.
Now I asked aboot triple play. The odd thing about our home setup is we still have Fon | Fios TV | Fios Int on separate bills. The phone is in someone elses name and I have TV & Internet. Get this...The CST told me to get triple-play I would have to disconnect Phone and Internet (could be a few days) and have it reconnected under my name. DISCONNECT? Without being a total bawbag to this nice lady I said "You are a switching company, how is my account name so deeply rooted to the connectivity of my phone etc"...it just amazes me that they dont have an easy solution for my situation, while unique, is probably few I am guessing. Anywho, thats disappointing from VZ's end. I must say in the 4+ years I have had VZ for a broadband provider, this is the worst I can think of.
I will report back only if 20/5 doesnt happen. Otherwise good luck to everyone else trying to get the new speeds.

| reply to RScottyL I ordered 20/20, but was only getting 10-15 on the upstream. I called tech support and they had to "reset the network", whatever that means. I'm assuming they had to bounce the ONT. I had run the optimization routine and reset the router, etc. and had no luck. It wasn't until they reset the network that I got close to the rated upstream speed. The highest I got was around 18500 kbits/sec for upstream. |

my accoutn online reports that i have the new upgrade (10/2) and my order # says that it has been completed since 6pm yesterday.
I'm still getting 5/2 from all my speed test. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
should i call or does this take more than 24hours? Where are you and which speedtests are you using? The speedtests servers have been hammered over the past few days and I've had erratic results.
You may want to try re-running the FiOS speed optimizer also. »www2.verizon.net/help/fios_setti···timizer/
(it's been updated to work with both xp and vista now) |
