Need Help Setting up Modem/Router combo as Modem Only

I have the SS 6520, long story short I have been having trouble with the built in wireless router as it has continually been dropping the connections. What I want to do is set up the modem/router to be a modem only and use my new linksys router for wireless access. I am having trouble making it work. Here is some info that I think is pertinent: Speedstream Gateway IP: 192.168.254.254 Wan/LAN port currently set to LAN PPOE auto connects My Linksys IP: 192.168.2.1 I have switched the speedstream port to WAN and tried using PPOE from the Linksys with no luck. I am not used to these modem/router combos and would appreciate any help offered. Thank you.
