|  PC Crashes COD4 & Battlefield 2142
I play Battlefield 2141 & COD4 but my computer crashes(shuts down) every 15-20 mins. I am sure it is not due to heat as I run about 30-31 Celsius, any thoughts would be appreciated. Below is my PC specs:
Windows XP

MEMORY: (Req.DDR2 MainBoard) 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
POWERSUPPLY: 600w Antec POWER SUPPLY
SOUND: Sound Blaster 7.1 AUDIO
VIDEO: NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GT 512MB 16X PCI EXPRESS VIDEO CARD

| Make sure you are using the latest video and audio drivers. What resolution do you play the games at? Have you updated to the latest game patches?
That it crashes on both games suggests it is a video card heat issue.

Is that temp from your CPU or your graphics card? If it is your CPU, then try monitoring your graphics card temp while you are playing. When the computer just shuts down, it is usually heat related and the 7300GT isn't the best card in the world for playing those two games.

Here is a though. I was having an issue with COD4. My entire computer didn't shut down, but the game would crash on most servers about 5 minutes into the game. It turned out to be some issue with the latest NVidia drivers.
I rolled the drivers back to the version previous, and it solved my problem.

Reinstalled Battlefield 2142 updated punkbuster and I finally brokedown and bought an nvidia 8800GT 512 card and still continues to crash, any thoughts? |
