Straight patch cable, cable companies do not carry crossover cables anymore, as they are only used to go from ONE computer to another computer and not a hub/switch/router.
The EMTA like a modem remembers the mac address so you must reset/reboot it when you shitch devices. |

| Trying to hook up Linksys WRT54GS wireless router to Arris TM502G modem.
Is the RJ-45 jack on the TM502G wired DTE or DCE or one of the newer "autosensing" interfaces?
I have read conflicting information on whether to use a straight or crossover ethernet cable.
[The Arris TM502G is supplied by the local ComCast carrier who wants to lease a wireless router to me rather than give information on hooking up anything except a single computer.] |
