Netopia 3346N-002 crashes after 7.5.1r2 to r10-DP42 update

Official page for the router is at:

I've got a Netopia 3346N-002 at a client's office that I took from 7.5.1 R2 to 7.5.1 R10-DP42 the other day. The original firmware that shipped with the 3346 did not perform well on the modem because it was so close to the RT (about 120 feet), but 7.5.1 R2 did well for quite some time.

The result of the update is, after 6-8 hours, the router is dead as a doornail. It loses both PPPoE and Ethernet LAN connectivity, and requires a power reset to work again. The status LEDs stay green for power, DSL, and the ethernet connection.

It's got a 1000 milliwatt output power supply that came with it, so we're not running into that issue. There is a lot of outbound traffic on the connection, as it's on a network with a mailserver that sends out a couple of lists each week.

I'm going to talk them through a hard reset this morning, enough to get me in to reconfigure it. At the same time though, I'm wondering if anyone's run into a situation like this before. Heading into the weekend, I'd rather they not have the router crash.

I also found the 7.5.1 R10-DP42 version to be a little buggy,so I upgraded to 7.6.0r4. It has run much better since then.

Uhh... where do you go to get that version of the firmware?

And I'm not accusing or anything... really I'm not, but the in the hardware line where it says 3346-002 in your graphic, the 002 looks to be in a different, cleaner typeface, almost like it was pasted in.

You've got a great rep on the site, and I do believe you, and appreciate the help. It just... well, it looks weird. You gotta agree with me.

That was an old screenshot, before I reset it back to factory defaults. After the reset,it shows to be a Netopia Model 3346N DSL Ethernet Switch.

With David's help, I spoke to someone at Netopia.

They sent me 7.5.1 r2, and I downgraded the router.
