In this region yopu will end up with an sbcglobal.net domain, it may look like at&t on the outside but you will find there are still quite a few regional issues to deal with hence the reason there are so many att forums here.
As long as your new username with domain and password work in the modem you have finished everything that is needed in the registration, no software is needed nor desired in most cases. If you can connect to the net and are getting ~80% of advertised speeds on your fastest speed tests you are setup. |

I too am about to switch from RR service because I want to play a much lower monthly fee, and I also have set up 3 ATT-Yahoo connection without the CD successfully. My own connection will be a dry connection as my cell is my only phone now. |

Thx for the FAQ link. Note a couple of things about the info in the FAQ:
- I used the link in the FAQ and still ended up with a sbcglobal.net domain
- toward the end of the online registration processs, there was a place where it attempted to download software (I aborted the process at that point). |
