Downloading now...Thanks!

Edit: Update went smoothly - no issues thus far.

Edit again: everything seems to be much more responsive/faster on my touch - a noticeable difference!

Updating now.... i really hope this fixes the bugs.

Edit:
Went smooth, and seems to be much quicker already.

Sync took 2 minutes with 2.0.1.. 35+ mins before it. That's one improvement I'm seeing so far.

Installed... First impressions things are smoother, keypad doesn't lag, scrolling the app pages is very quick, sync/backup is quicker... will see if it fixes the safari crashes.

So far, Safari is much more robust than it was before. Looks like Apple released a significant fix!

Time will tell, but things look good so far

'Bug Fixes', this is the kind of stuff that pushes me straight to open source where they have nothing to hide.

Ridiculous argument, even in open source they don't document everything and I for one don't care about doing a diff in a pointless attempt to figure out what was fixed. An upgrade either works or it doesn't, and I've been burned by Apple, Microsoft *and* open-source when it comes to upgrades. I'd really love to see complete release notes but it has never given me a 2nd thought to run to open-source. To each their own.

What was wrong with 2.0?

My wife didn't notice any problems. I had a few app episodes (power down and power on) and a few pregnant pauses, otherwise 2.0 has been fine for us.

I heard the Contacts delay is fixed. It's time for me to start downloading.

My wife even noticed that my phone's been "buggier" lately.

An upgrade either works or it doesn't.
Since there are no acknowledged issues by Apple, nor any release notes for the upgrade, exactly how do you determine if this upgrade "works or it doesn't"? LOL

Just found out about it.. friend IMed me about it. I was shocked. Me usually being the guy who's a feed/blog addict, on something like this, I was actually behind.. I hadn't been reading up in recent hours. Oh well. I'm downloading as we speak. I'm very pleased to hear, universally, I might add, about the speed improvements. Everywhere I look I see the word "snappy" being used. Very nice! It's going to be interesting to see what else people dig up in this update.. given the terse description by Apple, consisting only of "bug fixes", there may not be much more to expect than bug fixes, but then that's all I was hoping for anyway

There's a reason 2.1 is in the pipe, after all.

Fine. It's still annoying though that Apple is trying to hide the bugs rather then just being upfront.

Bugs? The iPhone has no bugs, just undocumented features.

Sure just like the Debian developers hid the SSL bug back in Sept 2006.

I really detest release notes absent of content however in my experience they aren't always accurate and you need to install to determine if something has been fixed, and thats true of Linux, Windows and Mac.
