this is a sad state of affairs. when people all over the world are building infrastructure that can handle more exchange of information bell is playing tricks on its users to squeeze out a few millions of dollars of cashflow when it's involved in an ill conceived LBO that will raise its debt payments through the roof. why are they going the private route? no one really knows, they were just fine as a public corporation from a financial standpoint... it's utter nonsense to see a company become so confrontational with its own customers though....

and Deadpool u seem like a smart man yet you so stubbornly keep trying to defend all that bell is doing. listen man the moment some big head honcho way up the food chain decides that your dept. needs to be culled you'll be offloaded in no time. all your loyalty and all the hours you clock don't matter. heck even some guys on bay street who were making more than half a mil working over 100 hours a week were let go just like that. and now they're desperately trying to find a job that'll pay for their bills.

Oh one more thing.. Deadpool - people with Bell (or any DSL that goes through bell) isn't necessarily capped at 30k/s. I was capped at 45k/s for the longest time, now I"ve been capped to 20k/s. It's different for each person's location and population density, relative to the bandwidth available (bell is still full of crap and will collapse. I swear it's because they gave away so many free months of service.)

Well, I'm a 'Usenetserver' user who pays $15 a month for their 'services' and my once 467k/s connection is now down to 60k/s.

I can start it up at anytime of the day and within seconds it immediately drops down. A buddy from work also has an account (we swap stuff - twice the D/L that way , anyways I call him as its happening and his account is rock solid. So its not Usenet... its BELL. Line is CLEAN as a whistle.

So are they starting to throttle individuals who still have unlimited accounts? If so, time to jump ship.
