So I guess I will be going here on Sept 30th, 2008. Well, I may not download 250GBs yet but I guess I will hang in there until I get that first notice of the overcharge and then, off to another provider.
Hit them in the pocket and drain the blood (money) out of them.

| We only have At&T or crappy cable internet available here. We have the elite 6meg dsl and I have yet to get above 5000 and they say that that is fast enough and don't worry about it, it's within their range of speed that they have to offer me. If you switch, I hope that you get faster speeds than me. |

| reply to fatmanskinny 4900 down and usually 615 up. My speeds are usually consistent. We switched from a normal phone in house line to a dry loop and my speed went down. I did have 5200 all of the time. We have two lines into our house and when we switched, they moved our dsl to the other line and that is when the speed dropped. |

| If they do, then I guess it is back to dialup. If dialup does it, then I guess the Post Office will begin getting more of my money. -- God saved me from myself! Thank you, Lord, in the Name of Jesus! |

| reply to jester121 yah it sounds like he is.
People are going over board on the caps. Especially if they are under the limit. The rule always applies though don't like it take your business else where. But if ATT, and VZ does it and you go to dial-up what's going to happen when you're limited to 150 or 200hours per month? ouch! didn't think of that did ya fatmanskinny? And yes most providers especially nationwide resell their access and limit the amount of hours one can get online with each account. |

Actually, I feel like I get more than my money's worth from my $42.95/month internet connection -- many hours of entertainment and convenience. In fact it's probably the best value out of all our discretionary household expenses. |

| reply to hottboiinnc Unlimited on dialup is easy, since on the maximum achievable dialup speed you can only download 13gb/month in a 31 day month.
Also, time caps are only used by really crappy dialup companies, or companies that want you to move to something like DSL (Which is why Verizon does 300 hours a month).
Good providers like PeoplePC are unlimited. |

| reply to DrModem The good people at PeoplePC are actually owned by Earthlink. What are you planning on doing if they actually close?
it's up to Elink to sell PeoplePC customers off as a whole or just leave you hanging. And as far as Elink and done so far they'll leave you hanging. |
