[DW6000] hnFapmon no tx/rx information

I have been trying to get this Fapmon program to work correctly on Vista. I cannot get the rx/tx information to show and the bucket always shows 100%. I have Version 4.5.4 of Fapmon. The only problem I can see is that the modem has not updated in a long time. The modem is a DW6000 using software version 4.2.1.5 I have the Fapmon service running and it eems to be working correctly but the Fapmon client does not seem to be getting the info from it. I even tried opening up port 6000 on the firewall and still no luck. I tried editing the .pm file to show the modem firmware version but I dont think I got the right editor for it. Anyone got anyclues as to what I can do to fix it?

You can edit the pm file with notepad or wordpad. Yes, put the version of the modem in there and also the right command number.
To get the command number: open »192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html

In the menu you expand PEP, then mouse over PEP summary and the command number shows up in the lower left corner of the screen.
Save the changes - stop and restart FapMon.

The PEP dont expand when I go to PEP Statistics. This is all that shows. I dont see any command in the lower left either. Maybe the software version is too old? Is there another way to find it?

Can you by chance tell which line I have to edit also?

sub new {
my $invocant = shift;
my $class = ref($invocant) || $invocant;
my $self = {
modemtype => 'DW6000',
main => '/',
pep => {
default => '/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=63',
'4.3.3.5' => '/statcgi/pepstats.bin',
'5.4.0.20' => '/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=57',
'5.4.1.8' => '/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=63',
},
sysinfo => '/sys_info/',
summary => '/stats/summary/summary.html',
@_,
};

bless ($self, $class);
return $self;

Change this line:
'5.4.1.8' => '/cgi/execAdvCom.bin?Command=63',

replace 5.4.1.8 with your actual version and 63 with your command number.
Maybe this picture will help

I do not know if it will work, but you can try to put your version in this line of the pm file like this:
'4.2.1.5' => '/statcgi/pepstats.bin.

It's worth a try

Yeah I tried that last night and it didnt work. The top picture is what Fapmon shows without editing the modem defs. And the bottom picture is what happens when I change the version number in the modem defs. Im not sure whats going on there is little or no support from the maker. And I have tried most of the things I have read in forums.

Just for the heck of it try command=22 I seem to recall that that was the correct one at one time.

Hope others will post with the same 6000 Version.
Your modem really runs with an old (antique) version. Maybe a re-registration will give you a newer version.

Well i tried changing to command 22 that didnt work but it was worth the try. Is there a way I can update the software? From what I understood Hughes pushes updates to them. But I think they forgot this one. Of course it dont help being over here in Turkmenistan im over here for 4 months. And im trying to get this working so we can monitor how much we are using. Because they got 11 computers running off this connection and none of this people understand how SAT works. So they keep going over the limit. So if yu know of a way i can force an update please let me know. The thing is the backup update is newer then the one its running. Not much newer but it is.

Thanks Raminto

My HnfapMon quit working a couple days ago, although my update says Aug 28, and we've had a terrible "connection" for a couple weeks. I cannot imagine how you guys know all this stuff but thanks. My monitor is working again.

Where is this .pm file located?

Edit: Found it.
Not having a lot of luck here.
My vista machine had the right firmware number but the wrong command.
My xp machine had the right command but the wrong firmware number.
No luck getting either to rx/tx again.
Next idea please?

FWIW: Fmon was working fine with the new HN update...Until..I got a new vista update this morning.

Just edit the pm files accordingly and save the changes.
Stop and restart fapmon.

Ok, got it fixed.
I have an HN7000s modem and I kept fussing with the hnS7000s file.

It is jumpy now though as to the actual bucket fill. I forgot how I fixed that the last time.

Your modem got an update and you will have to edit the pm file accordingly.

Thanks for these instructions. I got my hnfapmon working again. It would have worked earlier, if I followed instructions better. I kept doing an Exit (closing and opening the program), instead of running hnFAPMon Control Panel, selecting Start/Stop the Service!
