Wow this is an actual improvement.

Making the internet utterly unusable during the throttling period has made me using my computer not so usuable. So I go outside and such. Which is more healthy.

Though I have the same problem as you kringle. Luckily my demarc is about 10 feet from my computer. Not by coincidence though.

Really?

Unless I see prices returned to $29.95 per month Unlimited,
no spying,
full privacy returned,
DPI and any intrusion like schemes totally removed,
customer service improved to 1 call and all problems fixed,
comprehensive Canadian support,
no more double billing and or manipulating customers,
no billing wrong persons,
newsgroups and other services returned,
no throttling what-so-ever,
copper fixed all the way to modem,
all customers reimbursed for past situations and massive other problems fixed ... then Bell is just another RIP-OFF.

I'm still trying to resolve being charged over $700 bucks for 3 month Unlimited free trial. So I'm charging Bell for every minute I've wasted on this at my usual corp rate of $300 per hr and or any other related expenses. Even time wasted on here.

Take notice Deadpool, I have a special section on this just for you and other Bell techies.

I definitely agree with ROCKY, sbrook, CanadianIron, munky99999 and Bell_Abused

There once was an ISP called Bell
whose performance, with time, went to hell
Their solution, it seems
is to employ slogans and memes
To try to convince us that worser's
the new better.

lol Kringle!

Think of the money saved. Not only are they making you exercise, you saved 30-50$/month by not having to join a gym and drive a car there (gas money)!

I never would have thought of that. You found a Better

However i must once again shoot it down Sorry.

See you may be saving 30$ a month by not having to pay a gym, and maybe your cholesterol will drop 1 point from the added excercise... However, I do believe your blood pressure will increase because its not a healthy savings, nor is it a healthy forced excercise regeim.

The cost you will have on health care and perscriptions drugs and diet for your new blood pressure problem will far outweigh the cost savings and excercise (sad to say). Now think of the money wasted for your sick days off due to this.

Is this really better? This is like a false positive.

Can no one show me anything that is better?

If you bundle you get free outgoing 250 texts and unlimited incoming texts.

haha.

To be honest it's rare they I have a customer come in and they *only* have one service with their TelCo/CableCo.

The average consumer keeps everything with one company, so bundles are priority.
In a perfect world perhaps, but most people don't put all their eggs in one basket. I only have Bell Home Phone and no other Bell services after dropping Sympatico last year and as for the CableCo I only have Rogers TV and nothing else with them. My internet is Teksavvy and my mobile phone Telus. All my eggs are in separate baskets.

I have to admit that Bell has made my user experience better. What other ISP has their customers' health as a primary concern?

Like I stated in my latest review update, coincident with the turning on and off of the throttling (twice a day like clockwork and whether I'm torrenting or not), I have to go to my demarc and hard reset my modem. I have sync but cannot access the Internet until I reset and the same symptom prevails on more than one modem.

I am certain that all of this new exercise is good for my aging heart but it comes at a price. This behaviour began, almost to the day, when I received notification that my Bell Internet charges would be increased by $5 per month. However, I'm sure that they only have my best interests at heart and $5/mo. is a small price to pay for the added years of longevity I will gain thanks to the extra exercise that they are motivating me to do.

Thank you, Bell.

Is anything truly Better yet?
I've been with bell dsl for 10 years now and I have LITERALLY not had faster speed. I have been at the same sync rate the entire time. Now the funny thing is that EVERYONE basically has good speed in the area.

I am connected at the demarcation point so you cant claim for one second that it's my fault. They refuse to pay any money to improve my service. HOWEVER they will pay money to buy technology and install it to throttle my internet connection.

quote:
Bell Internet
No longer require contracts to Bundle.
are you kidding? That isnt an improvement.

quote:
Free 2Wire with all service levels.
Meh? No idea what this even is. Certainly not an improvement.

quote:
Waived Activation Fee for the past 3-4 months.
Saturdays are now eligible for activation dates.
You have a real problem figuring out what actual improvement is. Improvement is the bettering of ones good points.

You cant have a negative point and then improve that way.

quote:
2 business day turn around time for activations if ordered before 3pm. [Now includes wholesale dial tone providers].
Free 1GB USB Keys on activations performed in-store.
So basically you proven that there hasnt been any improvement at all. Like for example deploying stingers all over or redoing telephone lines and everything up to demarcation points so that all customers at least are getting a reasonable quality of service.

Lets say I'm Chrysler. I make the Mustang. It's a good product. Next year I'm going to implement bullshit annoying things... like Mustang cant be turned on unless you have your seatbelt and blow a Breathalyzer machine. Which is seen as a negative thing. Then the next year I do away with those 2 things... those arent improvements. That's doing away with negatives.

quote:
From an employee perspective it seems that Bell is concentrating more on existing customers and giving them better deals and promotions since the end of Q2 2008. Also, they seem to be providing more bonuses/incentives for their Canadian-based outsourced divisions.
Oh and that explains it right there. Your being paid by bell.

Lets now list the things that bell has done to make their product bad?

Now Cable vs DSL has always been on 2 points. DSL is very stable. Which Cable has fixed up that end. None of my friends have cable problems with stability.

DSL has no limits. You could download 400 gigs a month if you could.

So basically DSL no longer has any selling points over Cable they have colluded with cable to make identical products. Furthermore they began throttling... how surprising to see how poor.

Through Customer Service or if you qualify for any corporate discount.

Being a apart of the CAA or CostCo can get you on these plans.

Very good points. The fact that they continue to market and market and market and sell sell sell even on a tech support call is disgusting. Sure it makes them money, but there is no doubt that it also takes the focus away from where it should be.

Tech support should be there to provide technical support. Billing should be there to resolve billing issues. If these departments have goals and incentives which are not related to that then service will continue to suffer. This is common sense.

I think what Bell_Abused is getting at is, Bell seems to be only focused on monetary deals/incentives, thinking Joe Customer is only about the money, rather than what is equally, if not more, important "service", "quality of service", "stability", "caring", etc....
that about sums it up.

Better, is synonymous with increased quality. Its also synonymous with improved service (all levels).

If Bell doesn't mean that quality is improved? What is it that they mean by Better?

To touch a bit on Rocky's comment about money....

If they are saying they're Better monetary wise, how so? I mean all they did was remove things you had for free 6 months to a year ago and now gave it back to you for a price. How is that Better in terms on money?

Case in point being mobile and internet.

So monetary wise, it didn't get Better since all they did was erode existing services then gave it back to you for a cost, and also increased costs across the board.

So its not Better when they increased costs by say 5$, took away your text messaging then tell you you can save 5$ and have free limited txt messaging if you bundle with internet which they also eroded and increased the cost of.

So monetary wise, it surely can't be that what they are advertising is strickly Better pricing.

Service wise its surely can't be Better since all they did was erode services across the board then gave it back to you for a price.

So this leaves quality of services and quality of support services. Is this Better?

Is everyone's internet more stable now? Is it Better?

Is support quality Better now?

Maybe someone from Bell will have the balls to point the way to whats better? Because I don't see it yet.

Maybe its just marketing hype and nothing is better?

Bell is a joke when it comes to customer service. They will tell you to leave your modem unplugged for 24 hours and hope for the best... then immediately proceed into a sales pitch which just adds insult to injury. Not the fault of the rep, management is riding them like crazy. So glad I switched everything over to Videotron. Bell is truly out of touch.

I used to work for Bell 8 years ago and let me tell you Bell is not about the customer. Never has and never will be. It is about one thing and that is money. All sales people have very aggressive quotas hence that is the reason for the lies the support/sales give to customers rather than based on call quality and customer service. So if I made my quotas no problems even if a few customers got shafted. But if you had great service and didn't meet the quota than I get shafted. Not only that the whole company is based around the marketing department. So if marketing came out with a campaign and rushed it through the sales people don't even have a clue what the target market and whom it should not be sold to, etc., It was just get it out and we will deal with the problems later. Other communication companies are about training the sales staff first and less projects as long as the top projects are done perfectly. Hence less selling mistakes and better customer service.
Bell still hasn't learned this lesson in the 8 years after I have left and so I don't think it will be any time soon you will get bettER service, BUT YOU WILL GET BETTer MARKETING!

Joe Customer is not Account # 20000237766473383373373 but rather is Joe, who has DSL, Phone, long distance and when he calls with a concern is expecting to have answers/help for the monthly money he's paying to get caring, stable service.
