Good riddance. Just completely brain-dead content, waste of bandwidth. I did enjoy the INHD1 and INHD2 days...
MOJO has some good content. I would much rather have MOJO then most channels, especially Wealth TV.

There is confirmation at avsforum that Mojo is indeed shutting down as a live channel by the end of 2008: »www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthre···14760576. We now have an explanation of why Mojo never showed up despite being in the early post-alignment channel line-ups. Once Verizon learned that Mojo was going to be shut down in a few months, they obviously decided not to bother adding the channel.

Here's another article that's investigating the rumor.

I think there should be a confirmation of this post before people bury Mojo. I had vaguely recalled this and just confirmed it (wikipedia)
I don't see anything on Wikipedia that says that. I do see it says it's available on Fios which we know is not true.
What I confirmed on Wiki is that Mojo acquired the rights to show Heroes, not anything to do with any rumored shutdown of the network. Wiki entry "The channel acquired the off-network rights for Heroes in high definition starting in October 2007." I should have been more clear in my sentence structure.

Verizon put Mojo on the channel line-ups back in the earlier days of the HD expansion, so something odd happened.

Comcast is dropping it here on NJ II effective 10/15. Timing seems correct if it goes offline around the 18th.

I just called In Demand, they claim they know nothing about the rumor.

I think there should be a confirmation of this post before people bury Mojo. I had vaguely recalled this and just confirmed it (wikipedia), but Mojo acquired the rights a few months ago to show Heroes starting in Oct, 2007. I assume these would be reruns of seasons 1 & 2 (which is not that many episodes). It had to cost money to get rights for Heroes - would they shut down the channel just after starting repeats of a higher profile show such as Heroes? Not going to say that they would not because they may be losing money on Mojo and just decided to pull the plug with 100+ other HD channels now available. We don't know.

If Mojo was getting shut down, I would expect to see something about that at avsforum. There are people who usually know these things before it gets officially announced. I don't see any recent posts on Mojo there.

But if InDemand does indeed shut down Mojo, let me be the first to make the obligatory obvious joke: They lost their Mojo.

Hopefully it means they only schedule a month in advance.

I went on the MOJO website and looked up the upcoming schedule. On their calendar for October they have all the dates crossed off from Oct 19-31. So maybe the 18th is the last day?

That let's Verizon off the hook for carrying it and us asking about it.

Squid,
Yeah, "Have Fork Will Travel". IMO, that show is awful after seeing him get trashed on 3 Sheets.

But hey, at least this will give VZ one more open slot for another HD!

Rumors are floating that MOJO will cease broadcasting. Some Comcast systems are already removing the channel, as well as some Cox markets.

So, maybe it never will make the FIOS TV lineup.

That will suck though, I was looking forward to Three Sheets.
Zane Lamply has a show on the Food Network that is very similar. Just with a little less drinking.

I'm more of a "King of Miami" person but any who there is HULU (»www.hulu.com/three-sheets) to get your "Three Sheets" fix.

Do you have links to these rumors?
