| [2K3] WSUS in mixed environment
I m planning to deploy a WSUS server in mixed environment, which is Active Directory and some workgroup machines.
For the machines joined to AD, I can simply use group policy that points to the WSUS for updates. This is no problem for me.
However, with workgroup machines, I have to modify the local gpo on each of the workgroup machines. This is kind of painful for me.
I have heard of a computer group in WSUS. Can I use computer group in WSUS while using domain GPO?
Thank you |

| If you have admin access to the computers in question, open up an MMC console on your main workstation or server, add a Group Policy snap-in and then click Browse and select the machine you want to change. You should be able to set policies and do pretty much anything as though you're actually there. -- "I saw Matlock in a bar last night; the sound was off, but I think I got the gist of it..." |

| reply to testingwsus GPO are just registry settings. So if you find the key that is being modified you can export it to a .reg file which will give you a 3-click install.
Luckily, Microsoft has documented the registry keys: »technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr···449.aspx -- 09:F9:11:02:9D:74:E3:5B:D8:41:56:C5:63:56:88:C0 |
