Teksavvy home phone activation fee?

I've just canceled my bell internet and signed on (online) with teksavvy (DSL premium). My bell contract expires in 30 days so I'm getting a head start.
My question, I see teksavvy also offers a home phone. At the moment I'm with bells basic (I don't even have tone dial) I think it's around $23 plus taxes. I use YAK so no LD system access fee either.
I'm very tempted to switch to teksavvy but wonder about the $25 activation fee?
Is the activation fee waived if you already have their DSL service?

I can tell you for certain if you already have their internet service the fee is NOT waived.

Hey Jackie999,

Unfortunately, we are unable to waive the $25.00 activation fee for the phone service. This is a cost directly from Bell.

* Keep in mind that our LD for Canada & USA is $0.029 / Minute.

Regards,
Andre

Re: Teksavvy home phone activation fee?

Actually, I'm trying to get my wife to stop using skype and just use the phone, but it's still 0.006 cheaper on skype.

I'd rather my money goes to a [French] Canadian company.

@teksavvy.com
OLF in Quebec states that you have to speak normal volume in French & whisper in English... or else you might get a fine. same applies for signs/company logos French twice as big as English.... bla bla...

Only .029 cents a minute? I thought you'd made a typo..but then see by subsequent posts it's legit. That's amazing! With YAK I pay .10 cents a minute. I rarely make LD calls ...but you're making the TS home phone very appealing

Are there hidden fees like you get with bell? For instance, if you have one of their plans, you're hit with a system fee automatically...

I should wait a month until the DSL is changed over..or?

Re: Teksavvy home phone activation fee?

if you want, PM me your info and I will check the status of your DSL order. With that, I will be able to judge if we can do the phone first or we should wait.

* For TSI Phone.... What you see is what you get... None of that hidden stuff.

Andre

As a TSI customer I can tell you: NO.

25 dollar setup fee, then you are good to go.
No contract.

Long distance at cheap rates: free feature.

Other features ~ 3$ a pop.

Just to be specific, it's not 0.029 cents/minute. That's something that Verizon misquotes »verizonmath.blogspot.com/2006/12···nts.html.

The rate is 0.029 dollars per minute (or 2.9 cents per minute) which is still slightly better than YAK's 3.5 cents per minute.
