:New iPhone user here. MMS is a must, and I'm very disappointed it's lacking in what is supposed to be the most advanced phone. I have been lurking some Apple forums and it seems that this is a heated debate, most Apple fan boys taking the side of Apple saying e-mail is much more advanced and MMS is yesterday's technology that is obsolete. Well, they apparently don't have any college aged friends because MMS is very popular.
I like the phone overall, but I don't see me keeping it two years. I'm keeping a close eye on Android and Windows Mobile 7 both of which are shaping up nice. Apple has to kick it into full gear to complete with this upcoming platforms and give consumers features we want. MMS is on the top of the list, Japanese emoticons not so much.
The whole e-mail is better thing would make alot more sense if everyone's cell phone were capable of recieving e-mails. Why send my friend an e-mail when she won't get it until she checks it? I know its possible to send an e-mail as an SMS or vice versa but it just seems silly to not include that into the phone itself...
