AT&T and Norton - Importan Update

Starting Tomorrow October 20th - We are offering McAfee instead of Norton. We will no longer support the Norton Security Software you get with Yahoo.

McAfee will be available at att.yahoo.com. From the main portal page you will click Help at the top right area and then click download.

This will take you the downloads page and McAfee will be available there.

McAfee is available free to all AT&T customers.

Does this mean that all Norton antivirus signature updates, etc. will not work any more?

Does this mean that we all must uninstall our existing Norton stuff?

Is there a limit to the number of McAfee's we can install per account, like there was on Norton?

You can keep the norton - we just won't support it anymore. Meaning if you run into any kind of problem, our job will be to uninstall it and install the AV we now support.

Will Norton update the Definitions??? Don't know at this point - right now I would assume they won't. I will try to find out for you.

We were told Norton will continue to get updates until June 2009.

Great change!

If you have used both Norton and McAfee, then you know this is a change for the better.

The Norton from Yahoo will not and never will support any 64bit OS. McAfee from AT&T will support 64 bit though.
