You might want to search this forum for more help re: PPPoE. Or start a new thread. As the FAQ says, it doesn't address PPPoE. But I'm pretty sure it can still be done...

When the FAQ was written, I prepared it from what I have here in front of me. In case there was something odd about Verizon's PPPoE, I didn't want to write a procedure in the FAQ without verifying it.

cangler: I believe it's fairly straightforward. If you are on coax PPPoE with the Actiontec, get it switched over to ethernet from the ONT then test your connection with the Actiontec ethernet PPPoE. I believe the Actiontec connection will self-detect the connection type, whether DHCP or PPPoE or ethernet or coax. Let me know if this is different than your experience.

If the Actiontec can connect PPPoE, then you simply power off, connect your new router, do whatever you need to make it connect PPPoE. I believe the accountname is verizonfios, and any password will succeed.

Once you have your primary router connected, use the FAQ to connect the Actiontec using either Part 3 (WAN to LAN), or Part 4 (LAN to LAN).

Let me know a step-by-step that you took (post in this thread), and I will use your post to modify the FAQ for future use.
