FiOS adding NHL Network, NBA TV or MLB Network?

Anyone know the status of FiOS adding any of these channels?

MLB Network launches January 1st, 2009.

NHL Center Ice Added to Verizon Fios Today!

Finally! SIGN UP TODAY! WOOT!

Verizon FiOS has lit up the Center Ice channels (1475-1489) and will be announcing orderability as early as tomorrow. Rumor is they will be live as of Oct. 30th. Additionally the NHL Network should be arriving with the next wave of new channels in mid-Nov. depending on your location.

Thank you for your email. We have officially finalized a deal to carry the NHL Network and NHL Center Ice on Verizon FiOS. They will be available to you shortly.

Re: FiOS adding NHL Network, NBA TV or MLB Network?

I'll be glad when the NHL Network is added.
Cablevision has NHL Network,NBA TV but no NFL Network.

FiOS will soon have NHL Network, already has NFL Network but no NBA TV.

I'm guessing there will be no NBA TV till FiOS has a deal for NBA League Pass.

Spoke to a csr today and she said that NBA LP will NOT be available until the end of this year. Something about logistics and the channels still needing to be sorted out blah blah blah. She also said it would be offered at the half-price rate (the end of the year is typically the time that NBA LP is slashed to half-price).

Sad news that us basketball fans (who I find don't make enough of a stink on here) won't be able to enjoy League Pass as the season starts.

But also a bit of good news to know that we ARE getting it eventually.

Per Eric Rabe at the Policy Blog, NHL Network should be on soon and from his comments, looks like the HD version will be on when it launches

Yes, it will be in SD and HD..

At least here in the Philly area - it will be added on 11/17

IceManny-
NBA TV will be coming soon as well - it's not tied to a League Pass deal. It should arrive same time as NHL Network.

From »www.engadgethd.com/2008/10/29/ve···-lineup/ and »newscenter.verizon.com/press-rel···on.html:

Verizon adds NHL Network, NHL Center Ice to FiOS lineup

It may be a bit late for the start of the season, but Verizon's added the NHL Center Ice package, letting viewers subscribe to 40 out of market NHL games every week and early round playoff games, with "select" games in high definition. Beyond the $169 season bundle, FiOS also will soon be home to the NHL Network channel promising 75 HD games this season, along with 24 hours a day to talk cross-checking, zambonis and whatnot. We don't know if it can save hockey but we're glad Verizon is providing another option to the MLB, NBA and NFL action going on right now.

If I had to bet..

I'd say you'll need at least the Extreme HD package to get the NHL Network.

Just my hunch.

According to Eric Rabe, who's in charge of Verizon Media Relations, NHL Network will be on channel 87 (SD) and 587 (HD)..and will be part of the Extreme HD package for most people and in the sports package for the NY Area.....
He replied in the comments section of his blog, but ignored any questions about NBA League Pass or NBA TV.

"NHL Network will launch soon and be rolled out to FiOS TV subscribers on a market-by-market basis. It will be part of the FiOS TV Extreme HD package (SD channel 87/HD channel 587). If you live within the NY Metro area, the NHL Network will be part of the sports package.

Eric"

Channel 87 is not part of the sports package, that's right next to NFL Network, they would have put it in the 300's, we shall see.
