FSN - No Pistons last night

Surprised no one has posted this yet. Last night I expected to watch the Pistons opening game on FSN. When game time came they were showing an old football game on SD and poker on HD. I searched around for a phone number for FSN but only got recordings. Finally someone posted on the Pistons message board that it was a problem between WOW and FSN. Apparently FSN now carries all Pistons games and wants more $$$. Calling WOW last night reminded me of my Comcast days. There initial options were extremely slow then I got a recording saying the were not showing the game and the wait to talk to someone was 20 minutes because of all the people changing bundles. I then called again and selected add service and got a person in 5 minutes. She said there was an agreement and the game should be on channel 32. She then switched me somewhere to fix my problem. I got the recorded message again and the 20 minute wait thing again. Called this morning and got right through. I still have no idea what games they will show. For the first time since I got WOW I'm thinking about changing service. This is why I left Comcast years ago. I don't need to pay all this money and then get poor service.

So let me get this straight. You're mad at WOW because they were overwhelmed with calls and clearly told you up front about the the game not being shown and a longer than normal wait time. You then proceeded to try and get around the proper way to find this out and sneak in through a different area, who then put you back where you were supposed to be. How is this poor service?

They did NOT tell me up front. I called and they said select an option, then the phone went silent for a long time. Then I picked an option - problem with TV service and got dead air for a long time. Then I got the recorded message and that the wait to talk to someone was 20 minutes. The second call I made was to change services. No sneaking involved here. I've never called and had the phone system this bad. Guess I'm just upset that the message was not played first when I called. I would have probably hung up then and so would a lot of the people calling.

Yeah, I was mad about not seeing the game. I'm a major Pistons fan and if they don't get it together, I'm going back to Comcast (I can't believe I just said that).

Wow/FSN were not upfront. No screen crawl, Wow TV listings showed the Pistons game on the schedule, they moved the Red Wings to another channel.

When I called Wow, I had to wait a long time, then I was informed that I could not get the Pistons for any amount of money. Not available, no chance, no way.

So we're not going to be getting the Pistons at all on FSN this year via WOW? I sure hope it isn't so? I love WOW but no Pistons are making me really mad:(

Then you guys need to be yelling at the Pistons organization and FSN about being greedy a-holes. FSN is trying to modify their contract before it's up and wants more money. Typical sports channel. This crap should outlawed. It's blackmail.

Don't blame WOW, blame the provider... The NFL network did the same thing last year. There were a couple of games that were supposed to air over WOW when the contract was signed, but the NFL changed their mind and wanted more money for those certain games. WOW does not wish to be placed in a situation where they are forced to pass the additional charge to their subscribers, so they choose to negotiate a better price. It's the same reason Time Warner took so long to sign Big Ten Network.

A FYI

The games on 11-1 and 11-3 are part of the package WOW is not paying for so we probably won't see them either. I talked to a couple of people at FSN this morning and they were very nice.

according to a note I saw today, the FSN / WOW contract was knocked out and they will now show all the games.

However, it's too late for me. WOW pulled the same thing with the BTN, and they're still having the problem with the NFL network (three years now?). i'm tired of their excuses.

In my experience with WOW, they have never had as poor of customer service as I had on Wednesday. they did notify callers of the outage, but not before I navigated through the automated system at least 3 options deep (....at least).

I'm not. I'm glad WOW is butting heads with these looser sports channels and the constant blackmailing to get more money for "special events" and all of that crap. I'm tired of these sports channels causing rate increases because they are greedy pigs.

Come on WOW fanboy... WOW is just as much the greedy pig as the sports channels. Like they can't cut into their profit margins to pay the fees and offer their customers what they pay for & expect. I switched to WOW from Comast for some line issues I was having. I found that cost wise I did not save anything moving to WOW. In fact I lost with WOW. On Demand is crap compared to Comcast. And with Comcast at least I could count on ALWAYS receiving the sports games I wanted to watch, never a blackout over a license fee argument. And I was paying same amount. I am considering going back to Comcast.

Cousin is with Time Warner & he gets NFL network & FSN games no problem. He's not paying any more monthly than I am with WOW.

So who's the greedy pig??!! I see it as WOW.

Is that the best you could do? I mean really? You have no argument so you start acting like a child right away. Grow up.

Sucks to be you. I'm paying quite a bit less than Comcast and getting more. You should learn to negotiate a bit better.

You felt you had to respond to it, so yea, actually better than I thought could do..

Your full of sh1t. Prove it.

Both companies triple play pkgs are the same @ $99. However, WOW only offers 8MB/1MB internet in their pkg. Comcast offer 12MB/2MB in their base. Myself and a couple neighbors tried to price match with WOW to get their higher tiered internet but they wouldn't budge.

2nd phone line with Comcast is $10/mo, WOW is $18/mo - though I got them to come down $5.

Plus you get more channel offerings, both HD & SD, with comcast, so you GET MORE at same price of WOW's offering. And my God,,, the On Demand offering with WOW is so lame compared to Comasts. Getting less there.

Oh and let's not forget about the sporting events, which started this post, you get all the games with Comcast (NFL Net & FSN), unlike with WOW who doesn't want to pay the license fees. Again there, your getting less.

Don't feed the boards with your B.S. Your not getting anything cheaper with WOW than Comcast (if you really are then your not a great negotiator on the comcast side).

I gave WOW a shot, and they didn't pass the test. At least I come out on top with 2 mos. free of cable/phone/internet service with WOW's 60-day trial. Bout the only plus I've gotten from WOW. (though will miss their callerID to TV service - but Comcast is working to roll that out next yr)

No I'm not. Me and many others here have already posted how we got cheaper rates months ago.

First, you can upgrade to any faster tier of service you want. You aren't forced to stay at the 8/1. And the rest is how you talk to them. If you talk to them like you do here, I don't blame WOW for not budging.

I have digital tv, all premiums, HD Pak, 16/2, phone 3 DVRs and 1 SD box for around 150 a month, Comcast is over $200 a month for the same.

And my God,,, the On Demand offering with WOW is so lame compared to Comasts. Getting less there.
I could really care less about VOD. Both companies have crap VOD selections.

I could also care less about NFL Network, and I'm glad WOW isn't caving into their blackmail.

I've been a member her much longer than you kid. Don't tell me what to do. I have buddies who work for Comcast, they can't touch the deal that I have with WOW, and they've pulled all the string they could. I'm way better ofa negotiator than you or. Run along kid.

Again, prove it. Still think your full of it. Easy to lie and hide behind a computer screen. But again, your getting less channels, so your still losing.

Comcast actually has a very good on demand selection. If you don't care, don't respond.

I could also care less about NFL Network, and I'm glad WOW isn't caving into their blackmail.
Yea we know, your still holding out for WOW to pickup the Knitting channel. Again, if you don't care, don't respond.

What the hell does that have to do with anything!? It only shows you have a lesser life than I. Good of you to make that point. I have plenty of a life rather than trolling message boards. But hey, good luck with that.

Good for you. I have nothing that I need to prove to you. I'm not going to scan my bill. Me and many others here have successfully negotiated much better deals with WOW. Clearly you lack the skills to do so.

Comcast actually has a very good on demand selection.
I've seen it plenty. I'm not impressed with it. It's old crap. I've seen the majority of it already and the rest I don't want to see. Go for it, head over to Comcast for their awesome lineup and pay more. I don't care.

I could also care less about NFL Network, and I'm glad WOW isn't caving into their blackmail.
