| reply to dragon Having given one of my 19" Samsung LCDs to my wife, I needed to replace it.
Got this: »www.vizio.com/productDetails.asp···pid=1508
Colors out of the box aren't great - needs to be calibrated. Based on a web search and several articles, I downloaded the 'printer test file' from digital dog »www.digitaldog.net/tips/ Printed it out using my photo printer on good 8.5 x 11 presentation glossy paper, then did a manual "eyeball" calibration to match the monitor to the print. If you need to calibrate a monitor, and don't want to spend money on a USB device like the Pantone Huey or Spyder2/3 devices, this is an excellent way to do it. -- If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled? Upgrading the CPU/RAM/Mobo/Video card due to BFG swapping out my AGP 6800 GS and upgrading it to a 9600 GT PCI-E for free (figured the time was right to overhaul the whole system). Originally A64 2800+/2 GB DDR400/X800 XT PE (sometimes 6800 GS). |
